So... At the moment, I'm watching it... I'm on the 6th episode....
I feel like they talk too much then fight.
Do they stop talking one of theses days and just fight or is that how this whole series is.

It's a-typical Anime, unfortunately. Talking heads is a lot easier and cheaper than animating action.

Yes, it is. This part of the series is the worst bit (and sadly, you've got worse episodes to get through before it starts getting better - episode 12 is no picnic), but it's all uphill from episode 14 onward (when the Decepticons are introduced), and the final arc of 13 episodes (with Fortress Maximus) are good stuff.

RID is very enjoyable to watch. Think of RID like the 1960's Batman TV show, it's meant to be silly and campy. It does pick up and it does have some nice story twists, but don't go thinking it's a serious TF cartoon like G1, BW, etc.

On the plus side, it certianly hold up better than most of Armada.

Yeah, that's the thing about RiD - it's dumb, but it KNOWS IT'S DUMB, and it has fun with it. Whereas Armada and Energon were dumb but insisted that you take them seriously.

I love RID. Scourge, one of my all-time favorite characters, is "introduced in the series.

RiD is a lot like Armada or Masterforce in style - they start slow and are slow burning, but reward you immensely when you get a dozen or so episodes in with a buildup to some truly excellent moments. The finale of the series is probably one of the most awesome battles I've seen animated, only made better in the Japanese one with the various awesome bits of BGM.

Man, you are, like, the master of over-selling something. :)  The animation in RiD was *never* all that... it was always nicely drawn, but there's never a heck of a lot of motion. Only the stock footage looks and moves really nice. And the final battle (while featuring a great setting and a cool deus ex weapon) doesn't feature *any* particularly impressive animation (they don't save the budget to bust out really awesome animation at the last minute - it just looks and moves the same as the rest of the show), and just a bit too much floating in mid-air talking. There have been much better animated final battles in Transformers alone, never mind the rest of animation.
