This Guy Was my Very 1st Transformer, I kinda forgot about him a year after I pick him up. I had him since I was 8, in 2001 when I got him. But Now 10 years later, he's still here. A lot of Discoloration, some damage, a rusty screw, but he's fine. I salvaged him a couple months after the 2007 movie. Enjoy the pics.

P.S. I May have to get the Japanese version via Amazon after X-Mas.

I will still contend that this is one of the coolest Transformer toys ever.

I do have to say that for me, it's strange to see a toy like this in the condition it's in - like a "vintage" G1 figure heavily played with. What I mean is that it's "strange" as in in "surreal" for me.

This is not to say that I'm not nostalgic for RiD, as such is quite the contrary! I heart RiD :)

I also have to say that this is really neato to share here :)

I'd love to see either Hasbro or Takara make an update to the character in toy form.

i still have my rid magnus and optimus, as well as megatron too. those three really were the best thing about that show.
without a doubt my favourite incarnation of magnus, followed closely by animated and city commander.

I didn't get this guy or RiD Optimus at the time the RiD line was coming out and I regretted it for a long time. I ultimately picked them both up a few years ago and, while I generally prefer Optimus in most regards, Magnus is definitely a great toy. I really miss the way that RiD figures had all that crazy sculpted detail on every part; I don't think there was a single one that had any smooth surfaces outside of bits that made up their vehicle mode. It still remains one of my all-time favorite Transformer toylines.

I remember him and Prime were the first 2 figures I bought when I started to get back into collecting during high school. Loved them then and love them now.

Me too, I was 23. RID is the line that got me into collecting again. I remember buying Magnus & Prime at Wal*Mart right after I had moved back home from College.

My RID Autobots are still on display & still mint condition. I have out Magnus, Prime, RailRacer & the Autobot Brother. I still have a whole set of RID sealed too.

This. RID magnus came out when I was in college and a guy brought it in for 3D modeling class. I was working on a 3D rendition of G1 hardhead at the time :D

I liked the rid magnus a lot when he showed it to me. Contemplated getting it several times just never bit the bullet.

RID is what got me back into transformers - i didn't care about monkeys and bugs before then. Pretty sure I picked up Ruination first, then it was Prime which was followed by Magnus. Wonderful toys and just the thought of Prime & Magnus combining was awesome - and still is. They've been stuck together since 03ish though and they'll probably stay that way. Still have my yellow Prime and blackish Magnus still in their window boxes from Sam's Club from back in the day as well. Cool toys
