Hey thanks a lot guys. I appreciate the encouragement, especially after not having done it.

Updated the pic. Putting it all back together now (his left leg is still letting clear coat dry, so that's why it's not clipped to the foot on the front):

    Thanks!

Both. For whatever reason, some areas weren't sticking with airbrush, so I had to go by hand!

I completely disassemble with I custom. Just wasn't assembled yet.

So, it's all good to go and put together, and now it's read for some sanding to smooth some paint areas and detailing.

Thanks, but no teal :( . I loves me some Scourge, but literally despise the teal. So, this one's going to be strictly black/red apps like wonderfest.

I've always thought that gives it a more "evil" vibe.

So it's not actually Scourge then? 'Cuz otherwise as cool as it is, the teal is kinda what takes it from just being a black Optimus to being Scourge. The black and red are very basic. Teal breaks up the dark, adds much needed detail, stops it from being boring and keeps the red as an accent rather than secondary colour.

I know it's your custom and you can do whatever you want, but it seems a little... redundant to make a certain character and leave out his most defining trait.

Are you going to paint the light grey a dark silver? Because that's also a crucial aspect to the character.

    :puke:
Scourge's character is the character, and not in the paint. If you look at SDCC Nemesis Prime, he was decked out in traditional Scourge colors, but had the classics prime mold. This is RID Scourge because of the Laser mold but more updated colors.

I hate the teal. Sorry that you think it's "boring", however I really do disagree. I think once the windows are reddened tha'' give it a bit more vibrance, however teal = :puke:  for me.

I feel that making a custom that's not appealing for myself and my tastes is a wasted effort. I appreciate the input though for sure.

I have to disagree. If the mould doesn't resemble the character and the paint doesn't resemble the character, how is it the character? I'd never know that was Scourge looking at it. I'd say "Well that's a mighty fine Optimus repaint if I ever saw one" but I wouldn't think "Oh yeah, that's RID Scourge."

Well that's a little rude. Because I don't agree with you my post makes you want to vomit?

That's fine. But understand when I say boring I mean there's millions of black and red guys out there. That's default bad guy colours. The teal made Scourge look unique.

While that's absolutley true, I can't see how teal would make you want to puke. That seems a tad outrageous.

So, the mold doesn't resemble the character now? #done.

How does me writing "teal = Vomit" come through to you as your post making me want to vomit?

It's called "preference"... and now that you've written that you comprehend my post said "teal makes me want to puke", then I'm starting to feel like the last part I quoted was just a troll since it's a direct contradiction in terms of what you comprehended.

With that though, I do have to say that I would love to see a version with the teal, and hopefully be more appeased than I am in my head. I dunno if you customize at all, but if you do, knock it out.

I mean not a direct copy. It's bulkier and the details, especially the head, are different. Remove all colour and I wouldn't think of Scourge when I look at it. But that's because Scourge hasn't really been redone. It's harder to see his character in different sculpts because it's not as repurposed.

Also it's unfortunate that as I've tried to be polite and constructive you can't seem to reciprocate my courtesy.

I meant the little vomit guy at the start without context. Made it seem like that was a cath-all response to my entire post.

I'm just trying to justify my stance. I find it pretty dissapointing that you consider my critism, constructive as I can make it, "trolling."

I do, but I don't have the time or resources anymore to do so as often as I would like.

The mold is a direct tribute to laser Optimus prime... and scourge is a repaint of laser optimus prime... so anyone who sees the mold, even when it was in optimus colors thought of scourge, since he was the more popular paint and the one that was in the cartoon.... thus all of the "scourge repaint" craziness when the mold was revealed (and, even still).

And, as for the rest of the post, it was removed simply because it holds no relevance to our conversation.

TJ love the repaint bro! this really works for it more then having it in the g2/movieverse colors. Also its good to see that other kitbashers can take criticisim when it's either good or bad! But once again bro awesome repaint, just love it, how does it look in alt mode with the trailer?
