You need to get yourself a region-free dvd player.

If you get like the cheapest Apex brand model at Wal-Mart, you can find a code online that will let you set it to region-free, and then amazon.co.uk will become your new best friend...

That's almost a tempting idea. I do love R.I.D so much. I've got a lot of episodes on tape... I think every one that was brodcast in America... except the last few because that tape broke :banghead:

Didn't Hasbro recently get back the rights to all previous TF toons?

That's for cartoons made by Sunbow Productions for Hasbro's properties in the 80s, and by extention the Japanese G1 cartoons because they were spinoffs of Sunbow's G1 series.

RID has nothing to do with those. If Hasbro wants to, they can buy the rights back from Disney.

I think they only got back the rights for the G1 cartoons.
I could be wrong about that .

Nah, on most newer models there's a secret code you put into your remote that opens up a hidden menu that gives you the option to change your Region Code (set it to Region 0 to be Region Free).

I bought a $55 Phillips DVD that Upconverts to HD (as I have an HD TV) and the using the product code it was really easy to look up how to do the region hack (using the remote) very easily using google.

And, interestingly enough, the fact that neither my DVD player nor my HD TV are PAL compatible seem to give me a problem with DVDs I've imported from the UK (I've imported only the two RID DVDs thus far though). Of course, my friend swears that is only because my DVD player is an upconverter and thus automatically handles such things, but I'm not so sure that is that case at all.

Because Saban dubbed RiD, and Saban was then bought by Disney.
