With the new G2 Optimus Prime coming out in the Generation's line, and everybody believing he'll be repainted as Nemesis Prime. Do you think it would be a good idea if they reissue the Autobot Brothers from RID to accompany Nemesis Prime in Generations?

The word is the molds are shot. And the originals aren't really all that expensive to obtain.

Yeah, back in 2005 at Botcon, Archer himself said the molds were shot and we wouldn't see any more versions of any of the Car Brothers again. The crowd cheered at the news. I shit you not. I was there lol.

If we get any new figures of RID characters, then they're going to be repaints of classics like TFCC Sideburn.

the originals are cheap enough, and they are poseable and i think show accurate (never watched it) why do you need updates on them?

I don't think we'll see any re-issues of molds in the Generations line, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more homages.

Perhaps Kup repainted as spychangers Ironhide, or Classics Mirage as Skid-Z or Movie Stockade as X-Brawn or even new molds of someone...

I honestly expect them to repaint Uni 2.0 Sideswipe as Prowl with a new head, and Uni 2.0 Ironhide/Ratchet as X-Brawn with a new head.

Probably only Scourge, pretty much all of the original molds stand up to the quality of the generations stuff.

Even if those RID molds were use-able, they're too primitive to use in Generations.

The characters would need to be given all new figures; an unlikely prospect given that RID is back of the bus nostalgia-wise among Transfans,

    Reissue, no.

But I'll like to see the Car Brothers gettinbg updated in TFG/United.

And with TFCC churning out Sideburn, I don't see why not for the remaining 2... :popcorn

Classics Ironhide as X-Brawn and Red Alert as Prowl, no doubt.

I would prefer they not use that Sideswipe mold ever again.

I wasn't aware of the mold degradation or the fact the figures are reasonably priced. I'll probably start collecting the Autobot Brothers as soon as Nemesis Prime is confirmed.

Those molds got around thanks to Universe and con exclusives.

I disagree. I think the molds were amazing and hold up in articulation and sculpt to anything that we've received in "CHUG". I'm not a huge fan of the show, but the toys were fantastic!

Nah, as already stated the molds are trashed. And IMO The originals stand up to and arguably even surpass modern engineering standards. There's so many versions, they're ot hard to come by either.

I'm more than happy with the originals. They don't need to be updated because they're already great and even better than some of the more modern stuff.

    People still say CHUG?

Why wait for a Nemesis Prime release? You should get the original. The Takara reissue is available in most online retailer.
