Is it just a straight repaint of RID Megatron with no modifications? In other words, is it possible to do all Galvatron's transformations using the original RID Megatron?
IIRC, Takara's Galvatron is a remold of Megatron, while Hasbro used the remolded Megatron for both Megatron and Galvatron. So yes, Hasbro's Megatron has all of Galvatron's transformations, while Takara's Megatron don't.
That's a good thing to read. Because to be honest I think the Galavtron color scheme is ugly compared to Megatron's. Red+White+Yellow = Mega-Ultra-Chicken
I thought this was going to be about Prime. I can see more confusion in my future. Maybe Prime RID should be referred to as P-RID or PRID so I can enjoy normal RID in peace.
I thought it was pretty dumb to brand it RID as well. The amount of confusion it's caused makes that even more so.
As already mentioned. Takara's Megatron had 6 forms and their Galvatron had 10. Hasbro released the 10 mode version as both Megatron and Galvatron. Before you judge Galvatron's colours, see him in person. The colors work very well with all the bright white and shiney gold.
Yes, USA RID Megatron can do all 10 modes, due to what was said above. Pics of RID Megs doing Galvy's modes here: Megatron - RID Predacons - RIDForever Case in point, the awesome Giga-Elephant.
maybe RiD for the old show and RID for the new toyline? Subtle, but still... Though im sure RID will eventually just be called Prime after a while
I own both of the RiD Megatron and Galvatron's. Both of their respective colourschemes are great and honestly I can't prefer one over the other.
Eh, we'll live. The primary audience for the current toys wasn't even alive for old RiD, so I don't see it as being a huge problem. And context is everything. When the title said "Galvatron," I knew which RiD it was going to be about.
I've not really followed much about the Prime toyline(s) and all this RID/FE and various size classes and gimmick names business hadn't really put me in the mind to want to. I've not really bothered following news regarding the second season of the show either. I just saw 'Galvatron' in the title and assumed I'd missed the introduction of a new character via a toy leak and clicked to see. I'm a big fan of the old RID so I think of that first everytime I see 'RID' in thread titles even though I know it's probably about the new stuff.
