Shockwave is now in his FoC form
Are you talking about design, because he's been like that since issue 1.
Yep, from page 11
guh your right, although i dont see the wings, he has the wings in issue 8
I'm guessing the artist forgot to draw them. He has them in issue 2
nothing to se here then.....move along
At least the thread is in place.
Do the micro panels from #7 (used when Wheeljack was sneaking around Turmoil's ship) make a return? I ...kinda hope not.
Good, that was awful.
Bah, I didn't mind the panels. It's nice to see more experimentation with story layouts in TF comics.
And as a Shockwave fan, it pleases me that he makes some sort of appearance this issue.
I'm not gonna say the micro-panels were the worst thing ever. They're a far cry from the patented Six-panels-all-the-exact-same-size-of-robot-heads-talking-at-each-other-and-nothing-else-happening that took up entirely too many pages of the previous on-going.
...and I could tell what they were going for. The story crept along in small doses as Wheeljack crept along the ship. Its a neat idea, don't get me wrong. Perhaps if there was a stronger "B" story, or a "B" story at all running alongside it last issue, it would've played better. But as it was, for me, just made a ship full of unchipped Decepticons, a ravenous warlord and the introduction of a time machine feel like a great, big non-event.
i actually really liked the last issue, and the panels - it felt nostalgic for comics, and between Prime and the comics they've been tinkering with non-linear timelines within episodes/issues. I appreciate that they are trying to do something off-the-map a little, and think its been a converstion between Barber and Aaron Archer at some point to encourage use of the technique in TF fiction.
So how were the Dinobots? What have they've been up to?
Issue 8 is up on Comixology!
BIG SPOILER WARNING
That was not what I was expecting.
It's GREAT to see Sky Lynx really get used.
Barber seems to have everyone here nicely in character.
Mostly hate these old Dinobot designs. Blah. Redesign them already.
I like that Slag stepped up and he gets some characterization. Swoop too.
Ok. You've done Turbofoxes. It's great that they've been shown. But there are dozens and dozens of other cool Cybertronian animals in canon (trust ME) don't feel you have use the Tfox EVERY time. There are a bunch that would have kinda fit a lot better here.
I like that we get a bit more of Ironhide's interpretation of his vision. It's a more bittersweet grey thing even than we'd heard before. And I like that Slag believes him. And his line on why is cute.
Then... Well, I don't really get the end. The Why of the Dinobots doing what they do is a big question, one that I expect to be answered, but it comes so outta left field, and then... were Snarl and Sludge killed or just wounded, and then... What was the "word" that Ironhide was thinking of? Am I missing the implication of it there?
It certainly makes me eager for the next issue, but a little more to find understanding than for coolness.
-ZacWilliam, still, I AM eager for next issue, so that's something. And a triple dose of MtMtE this month should hold me over nicely.
The end was a surprise. This reminds me of the list Hasbro gave to Sunbow about who could be killed off for the '86 movie. Now it all makes sense.
What the hell was with that ending.
Totally did not see that crap coming.
Sigh wy kill them
These people have no respect for this franchise. But with all the re-boots and different continuities death doesn't mean anything anyway.
1st, no characters are confirmed killed here. The most we see for sure are woundings. Do any die? We'll have to wait and see.
2nd killing characters does IN NO WAY indicate a lack of respect for the franchise. In fact, I'd say that thinking a franchise with thousands of characters will be in any way seriously wounded by the loss of a couple is MUCH more disrespectful of the franchise.
-ZacWilliam, I think we could kill the entire premovie G1 cast and still have an increadibly awesome, deep, and strong franchise. THAT'S respect.
