Richard Cooey died just before 10:30 a.m.
Two decades for justice.
Likely not gonna fly in this forum.
Justice had been served, never the less.
RIP Richard, your memory will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who loved you most. You will be missed.
j/k, burn in hell prevert!
Cooey, who is 5-foot-7 and weighs 270 pounds, argued he was too fat to die by lethal injection.
Someone should have told him that only worked with hangings :S
This was the murderer of two of my Godparents' daughter. Dawn babysat my sister and me once in a while, and I've been known about the case from the beginning. Asshat just kept filing appeal after appeal. Glad they finally ran out.
Aren't death penalties usually enacted many years after the crime is commited? Twenty years doesn't seem that strange to me.
He's got to live 2 more years in jail than Dawn got to live her whole life. I'm pretty sure that's too damn long.
It is not like the old days. When you were found guilty, they would hang you several days later. They did'nt have none of those appeals and bleeding hearts during those times.
*just heard about the fat fuck*
if it were up to me, there wouldnt be a death row. if you kill someone.their family gets to kill you.
Guilty?.. You go home. victim's family is given your address. They get to choose when to take you out.
I could say a lot, but all I will say is he sure ate well in prison.
Well, Dawn's mom and brother got to watch, which was probably pretty small consolation, but a trifle satisfactory, nonetheless.
Sounds fair to me except the part about this scum sucking off of uncle sam's teet for two decades
Good, they proved the fatass bastard wrong.
If he would have murdered one of my parents or my sister, then I would have put in a request for me to throw the switch on the electric chair or administer the lethal injection.
Hey Drake, do you remember when the State of Florida used the call the electric chair "Sparky"?
This is fucked. Like, really fucked. With him dead, is the world a better place? No. It gives some rightfully angry and upset people to rejoice and be satisfied in death. Which is fucked. On so many levels.
I'm not going to get into a capital punishment debate, but let's just say I'm glad I live in Australia.
Those were good times. I saw one of the original electric chairs in a law enforcement museum somewhere in South FL when I was a kid.
What about the resources wasted on this man and people like him? They can now be refocused elsewhere. There's also a zero percent chance he'll be freed or escape and make more victims.
Fuck yes it is. There's one less rapist around. I don't need to pay taxes to house some murdering, raping idiot when we can just spend a few dollars to kill the useless fucker.
