So... how many of you have gone through the dilemma of whether to open the packages or not? I started collecting figures at first because some of them looked cool and I thought I'd get a few and then maybe display and pose them. Then I went for a complete collection just to see if I could (the November sales last year helped a lot). I've been considering selling this set as a whole because 1. I've never collected a whole set of anything and 2. I've never sold a complete set of anything either.
But even RTS Turbo Tracks I can't bring myself to open the package though I know he's not worth much. Maybe I need real shelves? Or more loose figures? I'm trying to pace myself on buying these as I do have 3 kids and a wife to feed (the wife has been helping me with the collection btw) and I can't spend as much as the little plastic figures keep telling me to. Anyone else?

I got in the bad habit of getting 2! 1 to display opened and 1 for sealed display! :(

I always open my TF. I don't have enough dough for doubles and I get too much of kick out of transforming them to leave them sealed:)

Those on cards...I open and trash the cards.
Those on boxes...if I can put the toy back, I keep the box. Normally I throw away the voyager boxes...

Duplicates stay unopened until I feel like opening them.

Yay, people! I ordered a replacement g1 cross hairs last week as I guess I threw mine out or lost it somewhere. It came in last night and I spent an hour or so with a screwdriver, lime away, and a toothbrush. It's clean now but I still need to stiffen the knees and rear wheels. Pics when I get home.

    Childhood figures:
I had to buy a new Crosshairs as I lost my old one. Got it in the mail and cleaned the parts... took forever o_O

The little red parts broke out of the upper legs. I think they help the wheels stay in place. Any ideas on fixes?

nice stuff man. I'm a loose guy myself but I love the way sealed figures look displayed when there are a few of them.

    New addition!

I'm on a business trip (class) in western Houston this week. I finally found a Prime Airachnid here at a Toys R Us. I've been looking pretty hard. Now I just need to get it home without mangling the package. ;-)

    MOAR!!!!
I need to go back through the list this weekend and update. Thrift and craigslist grows the scrapyard too fast.

I just hot glued the clip that holds Armada Starscream's (MD-02) hips back in airplane mode (one side of the clip was about to break off, hopefully saved it). Anyone have wings or top canons for this guy? Or his Swindle mini-con?

Anyone have a database they like to use (program, excel, access) to track their collection? I'm trying to build something from scratch and I thought I'd save some trouble if someone else has already done this. I'll post a file sometime soon? Excel is up and ready to go, but I was hoping for an access form.

I uploaded my master excel collection file here. Feel free to snag a copy and use your own data in the Own, Condition, Notes, Value fields. Use filters to narrow down what you are looking for.

I need to fix the URL column so the links all work. You can press F2 and enter to get them to work. Currently it points to the transformerland dot com database. Some point to tfwiki dot net which I think has better photos, but transformerland has a great identification page.

This database is missing nearly all of the Universe set for some reason. (I took it from here)

If you add the universe set, or are able to effectively make a good access form out of this (or already have something cooler, please let me know. I'd love a copy.
