Nice haulage. Wish I found that much in an entire season of yard sales.

Not so much found here this week. I just got super lazy and didn't go to many on Friday and had to work on Saturday. Geez... stupid work.

Look for me at the next Botcon (assuming it doesn't go West Coast) - That's where I unload extra TFs. About half of what's there will probably end up as extras - But considering how long I've been at this, there's a surprisingly large amount in that lot that I'll actually use in my collection...

You just stick to raiding Walmarts and Targets and leave the Flea Markets to me!

    :google

    Northern Virginia Flea Markets

Rework will probably be upset with me for giving a lead on his "secret" sources, but I just don't get that people seldom think to use Goggle to find flea markets in their area.

Also, I figure if flea market finds are meant for you, you'll find them. And here's a classic example: just today my wife found me an Energon Omega Supreme at Goodwill for $2.72. No head or missiles, but the body's in fantastic shape so now I can replace the junker I got in a lot trade.

But if she'd been mere seconds later, it would've been snatched up by a middle-aged guy just a few feet away who spotted it the same moment my wife did.

Oh, and BTW... kudos to you, Rework, on a really nice haul for an incredible price.

Not really... The well known, well advertised markets are seldom where you will find anything good... I don't even bother with a couple of the big ones anymore. I literally drive by one on my route that I haven't stopped at for years.

If I was REALLY worried, do you think I'd contine to post my finds year after year? LOL - I'd rather see more people get out and help grab the toys that the Ebay dealers are nabbing. I hate what they've done in escalating the prices so high... Turning this into an "industry" has taken a lot of the fun out of it.

Sadly, all of the flea markets I've been to this year have at best been half full - and it's 90%+ professional dealers. It's June and I think this was only my second or third Finds post of the year. Between high gas prices and continuing ebay pressure, the markets are hurting, badly.

I've been spending more time doing yard sales than markets - Not finding a lot of TFs, but finding other things - DVDs, books, household items, etc.

Quite true. I worked for a year near a fairly unknown one that was just off the highway in North Georgia but never stopped because the place looked so run-down and rednecky.

Finally gave it a shot one day, and found a rather rare transforming Buzz Lightyear from "Toy Story" for only $1. These "morphing" TS figures were a limited production run that sold only at Disney park shops, and so hard to track down that I was convinced they were unproduced toys.

Since then, I never dismiss any flea market/thrift store no matter how out-of-the-way or run-down they may be.

My wife and I discovered a church thrift store in the NoGa mountains that almost every time we visit there, I find some vintage TF stuff.

Couldn't agree more. Dealers are now selling junkers for outrageous prices simply because they're TFs.

Same here. The two flea markets we used to visit regularly are just too expensive for us to drive to anymore. And one of them is so crowded it's not fun to visit anymore. I enjoy the whole negotiating process to get something I want for the price I want to pay, but I don't like having to fight off other people to get it.

I used to get table or booth space at the same flea market, and even though I'd do decently selling household junk, I refuse to take my collectible stuff there again because the customers are @$$holes and try to offer a fraction of the asking price. I hate it when people assume you're stupid or desperate.

And I absolutely abhor hearing someone ask, "Is this your best price?" To which I respond, "No, getting the full retail price is my best price."

My wife and I spent over $200 at yard sales two weekends ago. But we finally found a really nice dining table and 6 chairs for $100, plus some other stuff we needed for the house.

The last place we stopped at was the best yard sale deal ever. Lady handed me a bag and said, "$3 for everything you can fit into a bag." And I went straight for her DVDs and CDs. She ended up letting me fill a second bag for $2 more. Sometimes it actually pays to wait until later in the day to visit yard sales.
