Rework, every time I look in to my monitor and I see an "Assload" of toys you got a flea market, my circuits sizzle. When am I going to start finding good stuff like that? I only found 2 things at yard sales this week... MOSC Hotwheels Father Son 2 Pack Mustangs (Avon Exclusive 1995) and a Hot Wheels Shopping Cart "Express Lane" No TF's at all. Of course they weren't many yard sales... and the closest flea market is about 60 miles away Congrats on the finds rework. Are these going into your collection?
You find in one weekend more Tfs than I've found in 3 years at flea markets. Hit me up on that black Voltron lion. My kids broke mine.
Well, it was a holiday weekend, so yard sales were kind of thin. Flea markets are usually pretty hit or miss on holidays, too. I lot of time I don't even go out. Got lucky this weekend.
Afraid that one completes a full Voltron set for me - Black is the hardest one to find intact. Either leg lion I could have hooked you up with easy...
Saw a Doubleheader, Crossblades, and Scattershot on a dealer's table that he had picked up for himself from another seller. No other TF's seen this past weekend. John K.
I honestly think you just put that in there to make us feel bad. No one EVER has any luck compared to you.
I would only find it exciting if the toys were complete. Just random parts, bodies and broken stuff? Meh.
i got cyb megs for 5 dollars, but it was missing the missles, cyber key, and wheel gun...i dont suppose any of you guys have those lying around or could find them?
I'd say the same for anything post-g1, but what's wrong with missiles, guns etc. from g1? You get them cheap like this, get a good condition figure somewhere else, and BOOM, you have a complete figure.
There are a lot of people who don't want to put that kind of effort into collecting. Admittedly, it is a lot of effort - But they want it quick & easy. These people are generally the ones who prefer to pay the outrageous prices we see on Ebay. It's funny when I look at what collecting has become in the past few years. Back when I started collecting, there was no Ebay and you didn't have all the lazy collectors you have today. If you wanted a toy, you had to go find it - you didn't just sit back and throw money at it.
You'd have to be EXTREMELY lucky to find all the parts you need just at the flea market to complete a figure, unless said figure only came with a single gun and nothing else. And no, the price of TFs is far from always being "outrageous" on Ebay, unless you're really bad at shopping.
Guess I'm extremely lucky - I have the parts to complete the Slag, Astrotrain, Ravage... And I'll use the parts I found to complete toys I already have - Or maybe trade them at Botcon for parts I do need. It's not that hard. It's all relative. IMHO, the prices on ebay are quite high - Far higher than I've ever had to pay. And I've been at this a long time. Sure there's some occasional deals that slip by, but I don't want to spend time refreshing for people who price BINs too low. I'd rather get outside, get some air & some excercise, interact with real people and get some real good deals.
