Why the hell not? If he can solve the immense problem of the structural stability of a bunch of several ton discs rotating while placing their weight on the disc below them, then hey - rock it out, Mr. David Fisher.

I saw images of the Dubi one earlier today.
Will be interesting to see how the services connect.

Anyone remember those transforming skyscrapers on Cybertron from the live-action TF movie?

I think it looks cool, but how the hell to you enter a room though? But still its a unique concept and soon to be built very soon, boy this is going to be interesting.

You can tell where the engineering mind goes straight to. And you can tell it's an architect designing this thing, because those "little details" are left for others to figure out.

It's pretty laughable that the wind power generated along with the solarcells will 100% cover the electrical needs of the building...

A: "I want this giant building to angle to the right and then back to the left, like a giant dollar sign!"

E: "Uh...that's virtually impossible, sir - it's certainly not feasible due to the tectonics of this locale and the building materials and -"

A: "No, we can do it. Those are just details."

My favorite architect story is a firm that designed a local school. Their architect was apparently a licenced engineer as well, because the "plans" for the school failed to take into account things like building columns and ceiling trusses...

Think it brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "sit on it and swivel"! If they do manage to build it and get it to work, am not looking forward to the possibility of it malfunctioning and shaking itself to pieces..  Otherwise, you know this will draw in folks / tourists, just to see it going round!!

    What's next? A building like a rubik's Cube?

A: "I've designed the new frontier in appartments! We will build a spehereical building, that hovers one hundred and twelve feet above the ground, with no elevators or columns. Just hovers. Genius isn't it? We can put them anywhere!"

E: "Are you f*cking retarded? This isn't even possible! How do people get to their apartments from the ground?"

A: "Just details. We'll build zeppelins!"

Wow, what an insanely bad idea.

More moving parts = more chance for something to go wrong.

No, no, you just have to aim big to win big.

I mean, remember that time we built an unsinkable boat?
