Okay I did a forum search so it sounds like the Sourcebook preview I skipped looking at might have spoiled some of this?

    How awful is that??

Because omg I was smiling so much at the surprise of all the kooky stuff and kid-in-a-sandbox fun and

working of friggin Hearts of Steel into the actual main continuity

and Centurion, who I want a figure of yesterday

and even though I've read zero IDW GI Joe, I feel like I'm getting to peek at the best parts?

Revolutionaries feels to me like all the fun potential of the Revolution event, but more carefree and zany

Yeah, I loved it, but I feel like I might've liked it even better if I hadn't been spoiled.

Yeah, this would've been much better if it hadn't been spoiled beforehand. IDW really needs to get their schedule straight.

But this was a great bit of retconning by Barber, hats off to him!

If books were on time you would not have been spoiled. Revolutionaries #5 was suppose to be out in April

Had a bit of a barber marathon today reading this, Optimus prime and salvation all in one sitting which has left me bit idw fatigued if I'm honest.

Had dropped revolutionaries up till this point as revolution put me off but have this a go having heard about the strange origin of the heart of steel being in main idw universe.

For a guy who is supposed to be all about logic shockwave sure can come up with some brainstorm level crazy and convoluted science stuff which for me felt really forced and required me to not think about it too much and go with it rather an enjoyable I felt invested in.

I'm a total floozy for the retro art so the issue gets a kind of pass from me just about

I loved this issue. Admittedly, placing Tomax in a straight up classic Cobra Commander was a little jarring and did make my internal voice for Tomax turn into Chris Lotta for a second, but it was fine. If he's gonna stick around as CC, hopefully he'll get his own threads.

I also loved the HoS inclusion and Centurion might just be my new favorite character. That cowcatcher faceplate is my jam! I also dig how he got a WWII era altmode to replace his train mode. I'm glad we're building to the Onyx Prime stuff with him and Blackrock, and I certainly hope both stick around as major players after Revolutionaries comes to an end.

    John Barber on Twitter

John gave us a look at the next issue, which will explore the origin of Mike Power. And it is adorable.

Revolutionaries continues to be the best comic out of the Hasbroverse.

Its the kinda crossover I like. One that doesn't de-rail everything else in order to happen.

is anyone else wondering why a random crew from eukaris looks so similar to the ark crew? will this be explained or just glossed over?

Eh. Transformers share body types and physical features all the time.

I really like that. I't kind of fun to play guess who with the miss-colored Ark crew, green Ironhide, black/ blue Ratchet yellow Prowl, Glyph...

With so many people on one planet, there's bound to be some reoccurring body features.
It happens with both Humans and Cybertronians. Like the whole "My Twin Stranger" thing. It's a bit more obvious with TFs because of the universally utilised body types. (Seekers being a prominent example.)

it was more along the lines of 'what are the chances that there is an entire crew that looks similar rather than one bot sharing a body type with an another'

So hos survived all the way to WWII. Then bumblebee did what for a few decades? Then he .... slept through the ation series, AHM and Optimus prime annexing earth? That is too hand wavy for me. Also why would shockwave do that? For kicks?

Shockwave's entire life is based on Shits n' giggles.
