How do we not already have a thread for this? This might make for my favorite issue of Revolutionaries yet. I love the mixed media approach, I'm always a sucker for the Adventure Team, and Mike Power's story was very sad. Though, given certain solicitations, I have to wonder if there's more to his story than meets the atomic eye. If I had one criticism, it's that MASK really did feel like they had no real reason to be here other than "we needed to put them in somewhere." Still, I much prefer Barber's writing on the MASK team compared to Easton. And of course, I loved getting to see more of the Hearts of Steel/Eukarian Transformers doing stuff, even if they were only puppets. Perhaps there's a chance they could come back in the future?
I'm assuming you didn't read Revolutionaries #5? Cause the Axalon is literally mentioned in the opening pages of this issue after showing up last time.
IDW is allowed to do things different. The Beast Wars doesn't really *need* the Axalon or even the Darksyde to happen.
I'm aware. I'm not saying it needs them. But you're acting like this is the first time you heard about the Eukarians showing up, so I figured you didn't know about the Axalon being a major plot point.
Thanks, it's just that Sgt. Savage popping up fresh from some time travel shenanigans in a series that has connections to Eukaris has got me thinking "Hey, could they be hinting something..."
MASK did seem to be fairly superfluous in an otherwise excellent issue. But given that the premise of the book seems to revolve around "a guest star from one of the other properties in every issue," it's ultimately forgivable.
Yeah, it really feels like MASK was here because Barber had to squeeze them in somewhere. Issue 4 had a similar thing with Snake Eyes. This was an Atomic Man story through and through.
At first when I read this I skipped over the Mike Power pages assuming it was some advertising thing, then I had to go back and reread it. Despite not getting it at first I like the way the stories eventually mearged but still left a lot of unknowns, I thought it was really well written.
