Last year I made three custom Revoltech Transformers, and now I'm back with three more. I don't pretend to be an expert customizer, but given my lack of skills, I'm happy with the results. There are plenty of flaws, but they look good on the shelf.

Wheeljack was a challenge casting the car parts for the chest, legs, and feet as well as making the head, modifying the wings, and weapons. I suck at sculpting, so the head took forever to get it right.

    Enjoy!

The base figure is all Hotrod. The chest and feet were molded & cast from a 1:64 Lancia Stratos Turbo diecast, and the shins were cast from a 1:43 scale diecast. The head is just a heavily modified Hotrod. This time around, I actually remembered to take some WIP shots!

Thanks for the kind words. I'll be anxious to see your take on him! The 1:43 Lancia is really easy to find. Not cheap, but plentiful. In retrospect, you could probably fashion the shins out of styrene just as easily and save some trouble.

The 1:64 for the chest and feet was far more difficult to track down. I found a used one on ebay out of europe somewhere (it was more detailed than most), but I don't know that I'd ever seen another like it before or since. When I get home, I'll check to see the manufacturer on the 1:64. It looks like the pic below.

EDIT: After doing some research, it's a 1:62 scale by Tomica.

Jazz is about half-completed, but I kinda stalled out because I'm not happy with some of the castings. Bluestreak and Prowl are both started (barely), but they have a long way to go. I want to do a couple of easy repaints for Skywarp and Thundercracker. I still want to do a few more Wreckers... and Soundwave.... and, and, and, so many choices, so little free time! :)

That must have been a lot of money for all those Hot Rods. Still they all look great.

    JUST PERFECT!

And it's kind of wonderful that it was a Tomica diecast for most of the parts, since that makes it retroactively Has/Tak/Tom approved ;)

You shouldn't sell yourself short man. WJ looks great. I think your head sculpt turned out exceptionally well. Keep up the great work.
