I've been working on this figure literally for months. I finally got him finished yesterday. I proudly present, REVOLTECH SOUNDWAVE! This is the standard all-accessories shot included with most Revoltech figs. My Soundwave includes 5 different hands, a custom blaster, a custom Laserbeak, a stand, and an adopted Robot Heroes Ravage. Revoltech Soundwave recipe: Revoltech Soltic H8 Roundfacer for legs, arms, crotch, joints, and shoulder cannon. Titanium Soundwave for head, chest door, Laserbeak, batteries, and crotch buttons. G1 Soundwave for gun parts, decals, inspiration. 1 custom fabricated chest Testors acrylic Arctic Blue Metallic Testors acrilic Silver Soundwave has 12 Revoltech joints, which is 2 more than the base figure H8 Roundfacer came with. That's ankle x2, knee x2, hip x2, shoulder x2, wrist x2, chest, and neck. I re-engineered the waist/pelvis/crotch to use Revoltech joints rather than the regular joints that the figure came with. The original configuration was not crotch-button friendly, so I had to change it. The result is a better articulated figure that's not much taller and has 5 shiny diecast buttons. As you can see, the chest still works and can hold Laserbeak. I took a photo of Titanium's chest and edited it slightly. I then printed it out and stuck it to Revoltech's chest as a decal. Some blue paint over key parts make it look like it belongs. I'm pretty happy with how this came out. Here's tiny Revoltech Laserbeak. He's just a repainted Titanium with a custom backpack made out of Robot Heroes Megatron parts. I sanded down the H8 feet to be about half their height. They were just too huge. This lets Soundwave stand about eye-to-eye with Revoltech Megatron. He was a bit taller before. Inspired by the TRU reissue box art! (I love the thumbs-up hand!) Soundwave's gun is made up of the Roundfacer's gun handle, a spare G1 shiny part, and a pen cap. Simple, but effective. Overall, Soundwave was somewhere near 50 hours of work. Much of that was due to the VERY thin paint I chose to use. Good coverage was only possible after 4+ coats. I'm incredibly happy with how Soundwave turned out. He's everything I ever wanted in a Revoltech. To see larger versions of these pix, go to my flickr account.
