Props to rampagesss and encline who both did great jobs on their versions of this.

It's the most obvious of repaints and it had to be done... plus, with my Revoltech Jetfire repaint, the 'cons needed some reinforcements.

No mods, just a repaint. I did switch out the grey hip joints for black ones that came from my Ultra Magnus but that's it - plain and simple. =)
Used Model Masters Purple Pearl (as I wanted to keep the same metallic style paint app that Starscream had) and plain Gloss Black. Instead of a silver, I used Gunmetal & dry brushed Steel. You can't really see it but I put some 'con symbols from Reprolabels on the wings to finish it off.

I don't really plan on doing any more seekers but I'd probably do Ramjet if I did. I kinda want to try modding Megatron or something to make a Shockwave or Soundwave. Either that or try my attempt at replicating Ptitvite's Devastator, repaint an Alt G1 Smokescreen or make my Alt Bumblebee I've been planning . =)

I can't believe everyone is not doing this. I like it. Especially the purple. Looks more sinister!!! And you can go wrong with drybrushing!!!

It's just the color balance that the XTi pulled. It's purple in real-life. =)

Stupid question, but did you just paint straight over the figure or did you have to prep/prime it somehow? How did the paint take when you first applied it?

Since most of it needed to be primed, I did the whole figure. You can probably paint right over the white parts but any colored parts (red chest & torso, blue arms and leg bits) would really need priming.

I don't know if it's because of the primer but I had no problems with the paint. I read some people tried to remove the factory clearcoat first but it was fine for me leaving it as is.
