I started this project about 4.5 years ago... I suppose I got bored with it and shelved it shortly after opening all the supplies I picked up for it. Yeah... I dunno. Anywho, after cleaning up the new work space a week or two ago, I unearthed this long-forgotten piece of work and slapped myself for not putting the weekend into getting it done loooong ago. This figure was built using two Revoltech Macross figures, the VF-1J and the VF-1S. Stay tuned for a Skyfire variant! As soon as Shapeways ships my order...

In any event, without further adieu, I present to you Revoltech Jetfire.

Thanks, guys. I apologize for the poor pictures. I tossed my jury-rigged light box and have yet to build a replacement. Hopefully by the time I get the Skyfire add-on parts in the mail and done, I'll have the light box ready to go for a much better look at this guy.

Thanks, everyone. Jicco, after seeing your DotM Scourge, I would love to see a Revoltech Jetfire from you. Unfortunately the plastic is very 'rubbery', and it almost seems porous to paint. It's difficult to work with. But I'm sure you are more than capable.

I had a friend render a Skyfire head sculpt for me. Sadly, the print from Shapeways has the rough texture to it. I had another part from the same order printed in their more relatively new, smoother material (Venksta's TFA Ramage head, as a matter of fact), and that appears to be a much better material to use for our kitbashing purposes. In any event, I painted it all up anyway. I also built a new rifle for 'Skyfire', with a silhouette closer to the one that he carried in the cartoon.

    Cheers, peeps.
