Talking Video Reviewers of course! Everybody and their mentally challenged cousin likes to grab a camcorder and make a movie of themselves playing with toys, so what do you think of them?

Pro's: I like seeing how a transformer actually transforms and articulates before I buy it, that much is good.

Cons: Too many reviewers like to take time to talk about character backstory or describe what colors the figure is. I can see the colors myself, that's the point of watching a video. And I know more about the history of the character then most of the reviewers themselves. Then you get the guys that aren't even sure how to transform it or can't remember what certain features were designed for. If they don't know what they're doing, they shouldn't be making videos of it.

Um, I don't like the way you worded this. Kind of condescending. Anyway, if your having that problem, maybe you should watch a review by peaugh, as his are the best on youtube and tfw!

I do, Peaugh's stuff is great. And some people do silent reviews that get right to the nitty gritty. Those are usefull.

Then there are videos of a guy sitting behind a figure going 'Ummm...'. Surely I'm not the only person a bit bothered by it.

Oh, of course not. But I tend to find the list of reviewers who are good far outweighs thosee who are bad.
And actually I have a mentally challenged cousin. Two actually. :)  Seriously.

Keep in mind that these folks are doing these videos for free, because they like the toys as much as you and I do. It's hard, at least from my opinion, to look a free gift horse in the mouth.

Some people just like doing them. They are fans of Transformers. And everybody shows pride in their fandom in different ways. I've done a couple "reviews" and I did it for the fun of the toy. Saying your bothered by it might be insulting of every person on here that has done a review.

I'll admit, mine are some crappy reviews. But I didn't make them to please you. I made them because I liked doing it.

Please sir, go take a hike.

TJOmega's Rushed Reviews are my favorite. A little chuckleworthy, always on point.

I usually skip the transformation scenes on most videos, unless if its for a toy that I never plan on buying. I feel it spoils the real meat and potatoes of the figure.

Okay, if you don't like those reviews, than DON'T watch them. Simple as that. Come on, these guys are taking up their free time to review things you might like, rather it be as recreation or as a job. The fact is that they're taking their time to make something.

Plus, some people might not know what or who the character is, and where or when they were from. Come on, I doubt you'd know every character, and someone would at least like to know some backstory.

Also, you might want to take the "mentally challenged cousin" part out, since it WILL offend people.

I'm the same. I prefer figuring it out for myself and being surprised.

Sometimes I'll watch the review after I've got the figure just to see if the reviewer had the same issues figure as I did.

Eh, if you don't like them, then don't watch them. Personally, and this no knock to people that enjoy making them, I think video reviews of action figures are kinda silly and a waste of time. The only review I've ever watched was a transformation review of MP Megatron, and I bored the entire time. Though I get why people do like making them (not always why people like watching them), but I prefer to make up my own mind about things that I like or dislike.

why hasnt anyone mentioned Ilovemess....... anyways

if its something made purely for sounds I like when the reviewer shuts the hell up lol. (like TJ did on the Tatsulot review). and I find Sean Longs reviews and other videos to be annoying anymore.

but I too like Peaugh, TJOmega & Vangelus. and for toku stuff id say ShukuenShinobi and BaltMatrix
