I forget..why exactly is he called "Autobot" Springer? Is there a Decepiticon Springer out there as well?
His card reads "Autobot Springer: Autobot". Everyone else doesn't have the duplicity in faction. Why is that?
Spinger's wings have code.
When Hasbro loses the rights to a Transformers name, they have 2 options:
1.Change the name(i.e. Universe 2.0 Tankor is really Octane)
2.Add a prefix before the name(i.e. Autobot Jazz, Decepticon Brawl)
He looks good. I like the 5PRI N63R on the wings. The colors are nice on this guy. Hopefully he either gets a new Deluxe or Voyager class mold. An Incinerator repaint/retool just wouldn't be the same, imo.
They put it there for trademark issues. Springer on it's own must have sound too similar to a common term or something. Similar to them putting Autobot in front of Ratchet every time they use it.
Actually, when they loose a name, they really only have one option, and that is to pick a different name. Though they could also go with not making the character all together. Putting Autobot or any other prefix infront of a name doesn't change the name enough for them to get a trademark for it. Trailbreaker for example, is a name they lost. They can't simply add Autobot in front of it to use it again.
he's a really cool legends, i have to get it!
Hmmm good question hmmm.....why theres also decepticon jazz and autobot jazz as well. And thats just a sarcastic way of saying hasbro lost the rights to the "springer" name so they have to put the autobot in front of his name
He's a neat little bugger, ain't he? I'll still skip all the Legend class toys though. Hopefully he'll come in a bigger version as well! Nice review BTW
He looks nifty. I hope he gets a bigger toy and is actually in the movie.
The others in the thread have basically answered it, but here's further reading if you have a lot of time on your hands

Wow, that toy is REALLY good for a legends class! Now if only that talent could be worked into Devastator
I am half joking there BTW >_>
But seriously, I may actually buy some of the legends for this movie. Hasbro really nailed it with this size class, both in Universe and Movie sofar.
They did the same thing with Jazz from the first line. Autobot Jazz.
Anyway, Springer has hands! Woo hoo! I used to hate it when my TFs didn't have hands when I was a kid. I always wondered how they would type something into the ship's computer or something.
Megatron: Skorponok! Why haven't you input that data yet-?! OH! Forgot...sorry...
I really hope we're going to see a larger version of this. It already looks better than Incinerator.
Wait.. Am I wrong, or can his propellers not be angled upwards in vehicle mode? That means he isn't a VTOL - he doesn't even have the same altmode as Incinerator.
Does any one have a pic of a green Osprey? I have only seen grey ones.
He's definitely a VTOL. Yeah, the Legends toy doesn't have the feature, but, it's a Legends toy after all. I'd honestly be surprised if this had that feature. Though I still think Springer will, and should, get a larger mold of his own.
I hope he's in the movie, it would be epic to see a bunch of Marines exit the back and then watch him transform to give them back-up. (Talk about using all of your resources!!!)
So this one has cool feet and flip-out hands under his propellers, but the engines can only point forward.
Incinerator had no hands and ridiculous clown feet, but a great alt mode in which the engines orient properly.
Somewhere between these two is a FANTASTIC Osprey Transformer. Sure wish it weren't spread out over two toys.
He looks greyish green in these images: maybe he is in the film afterall.
Dude looks pregnant. Arcee, watch your man. Beeotch.
