Interesting. I was thinking/hoping they would have kept the Voyagers name as Blackout, instead of giving it the same name as the FAB repaint. Oh well, I'll still probably get it for the same reason anways, to kitbash into a movie version of Raven-XL7. Not sure what I'll do with the extra mini Scorponok figure, let alone the one I already have. With the lighter color, this guy should take to dyeing red pretty good, imo. I'll have to get some more the next time I go to Pat Catans.

They definitely still have it, as their using it for the Robot Heroes repaint and the 3" Titanium 2-pack release.

 

There's a Robot Heroes Blackout, so I believe that Hasbro still has the name. It could be that Grindor here is a way to get the mold onto the market without outright re-re-releasing Blackout, in another slightly tweaked colourscheme. Also it is possible that Grindor is meant to represent another Transformer with Blackout's body type, a clone or twin, as it were. Maybe

So even though he does come with Scorponok here, I'm hoping for a new mold with the name Blackout.

 

They should have the blackout name.
They're using it for animated toy.
TOO many re-colors on this line already,
and it hasn't even been released yet.

Possibly. They did repaint both the original Starscream and his remold into Ramjet and Skywarp then made a brand new mold for Starscream himself. They're doing the same thing here with the original Blackout and his remold (into Grindor and Whirl). We just don't know if Blackout will get a new mold yet.

The movie toyline is popular, repaints sell and is easy money for Hasbro, getting more product on the shelves.

 

Can anyone read that tech spec? Thats the most interesting part for me

 

i don't care if they call it blackout or not, lol heck they probably know that i am twice as likely to buy a repaint of a new character then i am, to buy a repaint of the same character!  

 

definitely gonna pick this up, didn't get blackout last time cause I had a smaller budget with the first movie but it looks like im gonna get him and the new scorponok repaint  

 

This is one of my favorite molds from the first movie line. I do hope they added some stability to how the front of the robot mode clicks into the back.

I think he looks alot better in the new colour scheme, plus I still didn't get a Decepticon version of the mold sooo..

while the box art face is new, the head looks the same on the figure. I tried running this pic through photoshop, can't seem to read it still.

 

I posted the bio above a post or two. I was able to save the picture to my iPhone and zoom in on it. It was actually pretty clear once I did that.
