Congrats, everyone! We have a Wii game that ISN'T a port! That should be something to celebrate about, right?

Actually... No. No, it should not be celebrated.

The game is being helmed by the dev team of the Armada PS2 game, and as I've heard from alot of others, it seems to be quite the game.

So... if the dev team of the best Transformers game, as voted by the fans, is in charge of the Wii game... how could it get so royally effed up!? I mean, don't they realize the type of game they are making is nothing what anyone would want!?

As stated in IGN Wii's Hands On, they've described the game as an on-rails, extremely linear game!

What is the point of this!? Has the Wii demographic sunk in so badly, that developers think that the only people who play Wii aren't able to play with the hardcore crowd, so they need to develop an easy game!?

It's a crying shame. The Wii version will bomb horrifically, because those who would have gladly bought a "graphically inferior/Wii controls tacked on" port are basically being slapped in the face by Activision and told "You have a kiddy console! So play this easy game and forget getting in on the true Transformer action!"

It's... just really not fair. Of ALL THE GAMES to not be ported... it had to be this one.

That's the problem, Nintendo wanted to expand their demographic and become a family machine, and they are getting just that, even from developers. What a waste of the Melbourn guys. They could have made a BADASS TF game. Though judging from the info pouring in about the PS3 game, it looks like they might achieve it this time.

Yeah that's true, but if I had a Wii I would support it if it brought something cool to the table. Surely the PSP and DS verions won't touch the PS3 and 360 versions in terms of graphics, but last movie's DS game was really fun.

This is why I'm getting the PC version. I need the PS3/360 version so bad. The Wii one...? Not so much.

Yup. Don't forget Starfox, and Panzer Dragoon are also on rails shooters, and they're both great series. So yeah, "on rails" does not mean bad.

But would you think Transformers would work as an on-rails game? For me, I don't think so.

    sin and punishment
    Starfox/64/assault/command
    Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicals.

TF:RotF on rails. sounds bad but have to wait to see. i reserved the first game on wii then on DS. then later got the psp and ps3 version... the psp is horrific. i like the ps3 better then wii because of the camera doesn't go all heywire on the ps3.

i got the ps3 and ds version of RotF reserved.

Since Wii won't have online multiplayer from what I've heard, 360 and PS3 version is the way to go for ROTF.

I prefer on rails to sandbox, for the most part.
Plus, let's face it,neither the Wii,nor the 360,nor the PS3,is going to be an all time classic game. It's a game based on a summer blockbuster flick,it's going to be average at best.

i saw some pics of the wii graphics of rotf.
at first i actually thought it was the PSP version, until i saw the title: Wii Screen Cap 1
i do hope they made a mistake naming the console, the graphics would look really good on the psp

The graphics are horrendous! Looks like a cartoon, but not a good cartoon.
The game does have co-op but to me it sounds like that dumb co-op that Super Mario Galaxy had.
