Well, actually...the mold its elbow joint does indeed bend the correct way. It is merely the case that his hand is pointing down ; i.e. because our human forearm has a swivel/twist to it.

Basically, the anatomically correct mod would be to make Starscream's forearm twist like a human forearm.

Second best option would be to give his wrist a swivel, at least 180 degrees.

From what IO can see, there may be an easy-ish way to get his hands to fold up in jet form. The black plastic peice in the arm is static, but with the screw there, maybe it swiveled at one point? Maybe opening the arm up and rounding the edge will allow for the hands to fold up?

Why did they give him missiles in jet mode? F-22s are built for stealth. A weapon hanging out like that would show up on radar. Real F-22s keep the missiles inside the fuselage.

I know in the first movie they put extra missles on the wings of the F-22's because of how many they needed. For the SS figure though I believe it was just a means of a storage alternative to leaving them in the launchers. he's just a toy, after all, and can't fit those missles inside.

You actually want to cut away at the black plastic back there, otherwise you'll end up cutting away the screw hole.

    DRAW, Pardner!

So, what did you use to cut away the black plastic ? Is it difficult to not harm the hinge joint and surrounding plastics ?

I used an exacto knife. It's really easy. You can pull the forearms off, they just pop right off. Then I hammered the pin out and had free access to the joint pieces to cut, then put it all back together.

Wait what do you have to cut to give more elbow movement the other way around? The grey or black pieces?

Would it be possible to see him in any dynamic poses?

All I've seen is him standing around, occasionally with his arm forward...

seems like the real figure doesn't have the double wrist joints to allow it folds 180 degree... from Tamo's picts shown 90 degree is all it does... ?

it looks like there was indeed a ball joint ...

Got mine last week and I must say I'm quite impressed. Even with visible hands in jet mode, this toy is quite impressive. Toy looks good from almost all angles. Transformation is genius and the Mechalive gimmick works pretty well (even the sound it makes reminds me of the movie with mechanical bits moving and clicking). If they fix the hands and elbows for the third movie version, I'll be in heaven.

i have to agree on all points in both modes no matter how he is viewed he looks good . love robot mode thou it is a true work of art it looks so well formed in bot mode. i mean if u look at his back in bot mode it looks good not kibbly at all. love the transformation its easy fun and uses everything to its advantage. the loss of the hand thing and blasters is sad but doesnt hurt that much. u can hude the hands like optibotimus did under the back wings they tend to blend in with the black pieces of his chest and dont stand out as much . so far im loving the ROTF figs but SS and prime definetly got love. i would love to know who desined this guy it is just brillant

I was broke, so this is my only haul today.

I must say that I am most iompressed that in 2 hours, Starscream has managed to get through 4 transformations with no detachments, accidental missile fires, or problems in the conversion process.

A great figure, movie accurate and poseable, aside from the wrists and and waist.

I now have Ransack, Sideways, and 2 legends. More to come.

Is the wing assemblage supposed to be flushed against his back in robot mode?
