Smokescreen is a basic repaint of the movie 1 Jazz mold. However,this is a very nice recolor and looks rather nice as Smokescreen. Alt mode, The new paintjob on Smokescreen is a dark blue with red highlights. Bot mode. Another great job here reinventing Smokescreen with the new colors and the mold fits. Nice pics. I have Target Jazz, the hand thing bothers me. Saw ROTF Smokescreens at TRU and Target but didn't really pay attention. Paint job is okay for a repaint, could have been done better. I mean like Universe Silverstreak is a great repaint.
Having seen him in person, I just don't like those colors on that mold. And I've always found it to be an iffy mold in the first place.
hasbro team: "Jazz is dead. so now we can repaint him and give him another name!" i like my jazz so wont be buying a repaint.
its funny but thats the only* first movie toy I own! i really like that mould and esp the target G1 version i have. * i just grabbed a 2007 leader premium prime too, and thats it for my 2007 toys!
I think that he's a good fit in this mold, and I picked him because I'll take any chance I can get to have a classic character in the movie lineup. Need Prowl and Wheeljack in movie designs now!!!
Looking good but no number 38 logo on both sides of the door plus it would have been nice if the included weapon was the one in the final battle version of jazz. Milking the mold here and its getting boring already.
I'm not a big fan of the mold, but I will have to admit it is a decent repaint. Not the greatest, not the worst, just about decent to maybe average.
I like the colors and the arrangement, good new twist on Smokescreen. Nothing can help the mold's crappy arms, but what's a completionist to do?
Get a different hobby too? I've done that... now I want all air pellet guns I can get. I MIGHT get smokescreen later on, but time will tell. I do like the vehicle mode.
I got him today, but the one I have seems a bit iffy. The rifle-sword-thing won't stay securely on the right arm, and the mount for the head which flaps out when he's transformed doesn't sit level with the bonnet - it dips in, and seems to have a spring which is pushing it back down, even if you try and lift it up. Are these just down to the mould (which I haven't had before) or should I bring it back for an exchange?
Man, why this mold gets hate I just don't know. He can get some great poses with his articulation thanks to some really well designed legs. His arms are a bit odd but they work well. He isn't "lanky" like Jazz was in the movie, but when a toy looks cool I don't care if it's that screen accurate. All that being said, I already have this mold in a couple colors so I probably won't get this one.
