Part one (of 2) Autobot Skids. Custom mixed paints in lacquer and enamels.

Repainted the door graphics, and fixed up the tail lights to better match the real car's. Also, modded the back of his head a little so he can have more movement there.

Love the flippaint, is that pearl in the lacquer or was that mixed in with the green? How did you paint the graphics onto the car mode? Looks like a complicated design to replicate to me, great job though! This mold is awesome i cant wait to get one!

 

The top coat is called "Dorado Dreams" made by House of Kolorz. I hand painted the graphics on the door before spraying that, just scribbling with the brush, was almost like practicing pinstriping prime's flames...

 

Ah neat! I'll have to try doing that when i paint one...whenever the damned things arrive on these shores that is..

One mistake I can see though - you don't seem to have removed the head, crushed it, burnt the remains, and then replaced it with something less resembling a Walt Disney narcotic induced nightmare...

An oversight perhaps?

House of Kolours isn't made for plastic though right? What was your method of spraying it on?

Ahah! I'm using my gundam marker to do up the door pattern as well! Nice work. I see your point on more orange for mudflap. Gotta bring more of the car to the bot.

 

I'm using the hobby line (which is discontinued now) and (was) made for models. best shit around, period (not even an opinion) I've tried so many products, primers, paints, etc...and this stuff HANDS DOWN is the strongest bond to plastic I've come across. Tonyzcustoms just got some, I'm sure he'll agree.

 

hey, also, how do you guys like the alt mode picture angles? I am in desperate need of a new tripod and took those from the base surface. One of the legs broke off the tripod, so now it's a twopod

 

that is sooo nice.
