I think I would buy on sight for that name alone!

The color scheme on both simply have no harmony! I think they should have went straight to premium finishes for the next run like they did for the TF1 line.

I'm not too crazy about the "Megaclown" finish! A black base paint with silver and bronze highlights and red accents sounds great in theory but here looks ill-placed. The Animated, Shadow-Megs repaint looked better than this.

And what did Prime step in for his feet to look like that!? I was already saddened with the dull, brown-gray plastic on his first TF2 edition -I repeat, brown-gray plastic for robot limbs!! Now this "Optimus Clown" repaint comes along and makes me want to take a pill.

I'm SURE that the inspiration for these paint schemes did NOT come from the forums. Things like this always make me wonder what happens to all the unsold plastic and packaging. If it was recycled I sure would sleep better!

In conclusion...
Dear Hasbro: Please give us a premium finish, Voyager Megatron and Leader Class Optimus -and leave em' alone!

Thank God for all the amazing customizers in the community who really show us what "more than meets the eye" should look like.

Optimus is a little less "meh" then before. Might get it.

 

wow!   before i saw these pics, i thought shadow command megatron was an easy pass. but holy crap! he looks awesome! i might just half to reconsider!

 

It is time for a new Voyager Prime mould, I must agree. Something that at least makes me think "Hmmm, you might be worth buying" rather than something I look at and think "RotF Leader Prime kills you in so many different ways". Can't agree on the Megatron mould, though. I quite like it. Screen accurate it isn't, but it has "playable value".

If you need something doing right, do it yourself. His teams have failed miserably so far in achieving their stated goals. And that name needs to be used for a future repaint!

Too true. I thought that it was a new repaint of the Leader mould. Hoping for black.

 

Same here! I thought it was going to be a US Buster Prime. I would still click for the Megatron though.

 

Megatron looks good in those colors!

 

I very much doubt that it's actually that kind of gold plastic. Most likely it's gold paint.

 

Megs colors look good,but i cant touch that mold untill a Radicon finds a way to replace/fix that Gimp arm. The voyager Prime mold is "played out". Put it to rest Hasbro.

 

They have budgets, though so at most times they can't profitably produce toys with a shedload of paint, and fans aren't their most important or largest market. They visit sites for feedback (among other things), but obviously they can't enact upon every criticism.

 

Darn you! I never saw Leader Megs' face in that way, but now I'll never be able to see it normally again!  


Anyways, the Megs repaint looks GREAT in every way, at least in terms of the paint job. Great contrast colors everywhere, a definite pick up.

Defender Optimus Prime I wish was a bit more different, but he looks sort of like he was right before he died in the movie. I think that makes him worth a pickup, with Megs looming over behind him on my display shelf.

 

Don't you know that any plastic that's a shade removed from gold is 100 times more brittle than normal GPS plastic?! This is an epidemic! My Bumblebees are doomed!

 

Wow that makes the current Leader Megatron figure on shelves look boring. Wish I waited.

 

Megs is a definate buy. Not getting Prime for obvious reasons *Cough Truck to Robot Cough Cough*

I agree with this. Although I do admit that Megs looks way better than the original, I still prefer my ROTF voyager Megs.

 

Someone said GPS and then it occurred to me...

This Megatron could kinda double as Universe Black Zarak...

I almost hate to say this.... sold  ...

(The tank turret is like a stinger and everything >_>).
