At the oscars Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen lost The Hurt Locker.
Yep just saw that....someone needs to create a giant Optimus Prime foot to come down on them and crush them......
Just got on my knees and prayed...
and then recieved massive dissapointment.
Well, we all knew the film was far from perfect.
But I'm still crushed we didn't win the one nomination we got.
Still, maybe Bay will learn tonight to not f*** it up next time.
But, it's Bay.
I repeat: Well, we all knew the film was far from perfect.
So should I like it less or more?
I don't see the little gold man promoting Hasbro toys anytime soon. Forget it.
I honestly never expected it to win this category anyway.
Not surprised. It's not the kind of film that would win an Oscar. It should have been nominated for sfx. I am still upset that it didn't win it the first time around. That one i think was robbery.
The only thing this movie would ever win is in SFX, and with Avatar out that's impossible.
The only Oscar it should have won was Best Special Effects for the first movie, which lost that one to The Golden Compass.
Please change 'loose' to 'lose' in the title of the thread.
Didn't see that coming...what a twist!
Don't expect TF3 to win anything either; Part 2 of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" comes out that year
The weird part was not that it lost, but that the oscar ended up going to some film called The Hurt Locker. I expected it to be taken by either ROTF or Avatar.
ROTF Loses "Best Sound Mixing" at the 2010 Oscars
Sad news folks. Transformers : Revenge Of The Fallen loses the "Best Sound Mixing" award for "The Hurt Locker".
Best Sound Mixing was the only category ROTF was nominated for. The biggest surprise for me was that why in the world was ROTF NOT nominated for the best VFX? It was thrown out of the initial stages of the nominations.
At least I was hoping that ROTF would bag the "Best Sound Mixing" award. Because the Sound Mixing was simply awesome.
Better luck next time...
Two threads at the same time. Can the admins attach mine to the other one ?
Thank You !!!
Not surprised, it got gypped once last time when I thought it actually deserved it, this time it had even less of a chance.
I haven't seen it, But I've seen enough clips to know that true .
The sound in The Hurt Locker was crisp, appropriate, perfectly timed with the scenes, and drew you into each moment of the movie. The sound made sense at all times and never drowned out dialogue or other key elements.
The Shanghai sequence in ROTF ALONE felt like it was missing sounds where action was happening with no sound effect to go with it, had stuff mistimed, included sound effects that just didn't work (WTF is a "PEW!" sound doing in a moment when Demolisher is jamming his fists into the ground?!) and seriously had me wondering if the sound system in the theater was screwy. Now, there were many awesome "sound mixing" moments throughout the movie, but they got just a bit lazy this time around and it shouldn't have even been nominated.
Not surprised. Happy for The Hurt Locker.
I am, too! I need that money to buy more ROTF toys!
I was actually just happy to see it as a nominee.
Yeah, me too. It was cool seeing Ironhide's face on that huge screen.
