I always liked Ironhide's face design.

His face looks a little cock-eyed sideways there. Like he just got done getting a beatdown. Nice wounds too.

I'm still curious as to how a robot can have scars.

Sweet picture, nonetheless. Can't wait to see more.

The eyes seem to be so much more realistic, kinda freaky actually.

What do you mean a robot can't have scars? Scratches, dents, rust, etc. = scars.

well, its dented and melted-to replace the eye would probably involve replacing most of his head, as it seems alot of his right side of his face is melted-im guessing it would be too dificult to repair without damaging him further, so he just leaves it. or maybe its a reminder of somethihng, like Animated Ratchet's crest and arm

I would say that isn't an old war wound.....but rather a new war wound....

see.....now THIS is what i thought was lacking from the first film.. we never got to see these little details that made each character really come to life. i KNOW it makes no sense to have battle scars liek that but if they are to have any human qualities at all, it makes sense to show that they can be hurt, and that they do suffer in their own way from the millions of years of battle. Bee with his vocal processors, Ironhide with his battle scars. jazz with his.... untimely death at the hands of Bay-o-Tron..

i LOVE the detail and i really am giving more thought to how to personify Ironhide in my comic...

    NICE job on the CG.

and i'm SO stoked for this movie.

right. I remember this from the previous discussion from the last few stills we got from ROTF. But in the first movie, everything moved so fast and shook so much we never got to see it. because of that, i never noticed it until now. now that i've seen it, i think it gives an element to these characters that i had not been able to appreciate before....

...but thanks for telling us. Especially 35 times. That really drives it home for those of us too dense to get it within the first 34.

    That was a close one.

    Woah, the detail is amazing.
It's crazy how realistic the car pieces are. Makes the whole thing that much more believable.
    Sick!

    Not really.

The Autobot introductions in the alley are not fast or shaky at all.
You can easily make out Ironhide's damaged face in his close up shot there, even on regular DVD.

It was the first thing I noticed on his face when I first saw it in the theatre.
