Home Media Magazine has an article with some information about the Revenge of the Fallen DVD. First, the Blu-Ray release of Revenge of the Fallen will have full-screen IMAX shots:

“We’re going to do a special Imax skew where it’ll open up for those scenes,” Bay says. “You can see top to bottom.”

The article also has some information about the special features:

“This one is done by Ridley Scott’s DVD guy, who’s great, so we’re going to have a lot of stuff,” Bay says, referring to noted DVD producer Charles de Lauzirika, who was responsible for extras on such DVDs as the “Twin Peaks” complete series set and the Blade Runner 25th anniversary set.

Revenge of the Fallen producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura says there were plenty of possibilities for material to be included on the eventual home video release, expected from Paramount and DreamWorks this fall.

“It will have a lot of additional things,” di Bonaventura said. “There are a lot of scenes we weren’t able to fully incorporate, and we’re going to make it as exciting as we can for the fans.”

Some of that extra footage did find its way into theaters, in the Imax cut.

“It has, I think, probably about a minute more of footage,” Bay says. “It’s got some more fighting footage that took place in the forest, and some additional stuff with Devastator.”

This sounds pretty cool. The 25th ann. of BladeRunner had some pretty good extra's on it.

Quite Honestly, BLU-RAY can keep the FULLSCREENED Devastator Sequences. As awesome as they were on the IMAX Screen, the constant change in screen resolution was just plain distracting and I don't want that to reoccur on my Television Screen when I buy my Standard Two Disc DVD. As long as I get hours upon hours of special features with my film, +Deleted Scenes (preferably all of them, instead of "eight or nine" like I remember Michael Bay contemplating on adding), I'm a happy camper.

Don't have a blu-ray player yet, but this is great news for the people that do. I am hoping though, that the extra footage will also be on regular dvd (albeit in regular size)...and hope that there's even MORE extra footage like DiBonaventura says..

If it means footage that gives the movie some much needed depth, I'm all for it. I have the feeling, even through what I was the suckiness, it could have been better if some crucial scenes were handled better..

Gah, gotta go blu-ray some day!

Wonder if some of that extra footage involves more bot time?
