Fall of Cybertron Generations Shockwave with new legs! Ok, not really. I was dissapointed to discover that someone already did this... but props to them, as endless possibilities have been opened. The stock figure is already a great toy that basically turns into a flying gun, (which is what he was in the marvel comics), but I wanted something special for my classics shelf, so I reworked Shockwave's altmode into what he was in the cartoon: just a really big gun. Obviously, I used Cyclonus's legs, but I went the extra mile and added some tank tread peices that rotate for transformation and make the altmode look less stationary. In robot mode, Shockwave is now the proper size for a deluxe and no more hollow legs! Now, one question remains... Do I need Energon Shockblast anymore? Please discuss!
This is awesome. I still say an Energon mold will custom to make a really great Shockwave but if youre like me youre just grateful to FINALLY have a Shockwave for your classics collection. Plan and wait to snipe the best one...thats what Im doing.
is that a simple leg swap (aside from the treads) because it looks pretty decent-arms look a bit short in one pic, but otherwise... sweet!
Interesting, I never thought about adding treads to his legs after swapping out the legs with Cyclonus'.
this looks awesome, great tweak to this mod. How did you add the treads and where were they scavenged from?
No. The original, Universe version is fairly to the purple that Shockwave was molded in, but you can still tell that they're two different shades.
Nice piece. Is it just me, or does the alt mode remind anyone else of Action Master Grimlock's tank/gun?
I love it. ONly thing for me Is I woulda kept the wings. just like the look. they fill out the figure. but this totaly tops
The legs are a bit loose on the hips at first (maybe that depends on which cyclonus is used) but I tightend the joints to my liking using superglue. Thanks. Thanks. It was a bit of a task, I'll say. The tank treds are from a junker 2-pack classics megatron, but I had to sand them down so they look right. Then I added pegs to them and plugged them into holes that I drilled on Cyclonus's legs. They can rotate for transformation, which is an innovation I did not even count on, but some accidents have to happen. I may do a tutorial If asked. Yet another accident! Shockwave already has a direct connection to the Dinobots because of FOC, so this makes sense! Thanks for pointing that out. Thank you, although this is a G1 cartoon tribute, so the wings are going to stay off on this figure. But I do like the winged look, so my spare FOC Shockwave will be un-modded Also, thanks to everyone who commented so far, but I really need some extra opinions on wheter or not Energon Shockblast is relevant anymore. Is FOC Shockwave THE classics version (with some mods, of course), or does the energon version still win.
Thanks. but yeah, who needs TWO hands? I may revise this custom in the future, and maybe a new paintjob.
