Interesting. Definitely in reference to certain future figures having rubsigns on them. Just seems to be the Legends and Windcharger atm. Should be interesting to see who else gets them (none of the Deluxe Generations figures seem to have them).

Hmm, don't remember hearing about that, if it was that well known why is everyone splooging in their shorts over it now then?

    Ugh.

    I. Fucking. Hate. Rubsigns.

I hated rubsigns in the 80's. I hated them on Classics. I hate them now.

To me, it just ruins the screen-accurateness of a character. It's a pointless gimmick, and it looks UGLY. I detest that classics Bumblebee has a big black blot on his chest where his Autobot symbol should be displayed proudly.

This really reduces my want for some of the 2011 toys, and those that I get will have them ripped off and replaced by reprolabels.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid.

This. There are some figures that I keep thinking, man, I wish I had a rubsign on it, and then there are some that are 'why did they put it there?'

Remember, the rubsign at the time wasn't just a gimmick. It was because Hasbro was competing against several manufacturers as well as a severe glut of knock offs. They had to find a way to validate that the figure being bought was authentic, and this was their solution. Now though, yeah, it's just nostalgic gimmickry.
