Seen along with Fallback as the weak links in wave 1 of Reveal the Shield Mindset is a pleasant suprise.

Based on a G2 character this is the Hailstorm figure repainted with an all important new head sculpt, I am glad I picked this guy up and his pics I think speak for themselves.

He is a bulky bugger but very playable and poseable, he comes with his massive manual missile launcher activated by giving the end of each missile a push / flick, I havent done the vehicle mode yet due to time but will hopefully have it sorted asap, for those that dont know he transforms into a mobile missile launcher.

His colours are superb and the new head seems to do just enough to seperate him from that movie style aesthetic.

    Overall 7/10

Ugh - his colours are.. horrid. He looks unpainted, but then again I'm a movie figure collector so having colours which look completely out of place with Movie aesthetic (as well as a head which screams Classics/G1) is probably a turn-off for me.

The colours really look dull, though, same with Fallback - from the card it looks as if both of them were unpainted. The bot mode looks better than the vehicle mode with some nice paint detail on the torso but unfortunately not attractive enough for me to buy it, especially as I've already got Hailstorm who just looks excellent and fits well with the 1/64 scale Movieverse figures. Thanks for the pictures, though - it's nice to see his robot mode is much better than his alt mode, and I think people who like Blurr (with a similar head and similar colour) will probably like him too.

Can he stand in that second last pic unassisted, by the way? Hailstorm would look awesome in that pose!!

Yep all the pics are him standing under his own weight so Hailstorm should do it just fine.

With regard to paint I think your right as he appears to be molded in blue :)

Perhaps he's got his 'Mind Set' to 'low'. Not that he's Mean Machine Angel or anything. Maybe Mindset needs a dial on his forehead.

I've already got Hailstorm and really like him. Mindset is okay but I think I bought the right one.

    Me too, the colors especially!

I really, really dig this mold, and I'm perfectly happy buying a second in neat colors with a different head.

I really like that the missile racks and missiles are black, looks great!

I was quite fond of Hailstorm since I first saw his pics, and now that I got this little slugger, I dig him a lot too. I'm a sucker for these squat, missile-toting whoop-ass machines. :D

His head looks a bit simian from some angles, but definitely very different and better than expected.

I don't really agree with that; it's more human then most of the movie bot heads, but it's still pretty obviously movie style.

I like the little gorilla. Very fun to fiddle with. Pardon my ignorance but, what G2 character is he based on?

I think Mindset is nifty. I have Hailstorm already, but Mindset is a great Autobot version of him. While they have the hybrid movie/classic look (leaned a bit more toward movie than Tomahawk or Terradive), both have homes as new G1 characters in my home.

An obscure G2 Decepticon who had turned into a rocket launcher and has rockets on his back in bot mode :)

I still think their names were switched around during production.

The original Hailstorm is a mostly blue Mini-Con from the PS2 Armada video game, who had missile stacks.

The original Mindset is a mostly green Decepticon with missiles.

I wish Hasbro would've made a straight up Classics or Movie version (preferably Classics) of both Hailstorm & Mindset. These just seem trapped in Limbo, not quite belonging anywhere.

Bought this guy as well... and wasn't paying attention which faction it belongs to. Then just realized Mindset is an autobot... hmmm... not bad since most autobots are armless vehicles...

Now the main reason of the purchase... Hailstorm mold is not bad; plus a new head sculpt. But it just looks awkward with the rest of the body; very weird.. How can this Autobot mindset fit with the rest of Autobots ?? Just awkward...
