Would anyone like to see Transformers drones or generic characters similar to those that were in the War for Cybertron video game/Movie video games/Cybertron series/etc. under the Reveal the shield packaging? Back to the days of G1 mini-spies.

Various bots and a large range of alt modes with several different color schemes. Legend to Voyager size. Each mold would have 3 or four repaints and an unknown faction that would be random until revealed with the rubsign unlike the obvious ones out now with well known characters giving some meaning to the Reveal the Shield promotion.

I honestly don't think Deluxe or Voyagers would sell all that well as generic drones, but could be wrong. Some may make nice base figures for customizing. Legends might sell as generic drones because of the lower price point.

Deluxe drones would sell if they were based on the new show, because the characters were represented there

Movie Swindle disagrees with you. Oh, wait, they had to redeco him into Camshaft and then include him with some Leader Class Optimus Primes and Megatrons to get rid of them all.

Still, having figures reminicent of the old Mini-spies (who were crapshoots in terms of alt. mode, color, and affiliation) would be awesome as then it would really matter what the rubsign was.

Actually, Swindle/Camshaft was a crappy toy. Make a good toy as drones, with multiple recolors, and they would sell. Look at Tomahawk and Terradive. They have no fiction pushing them and they are popular. Had they been drones, they'd be just as popular since it's the fact they are good toys that is selling them.

No, they made MORE of the mold, they didn't just REPAINT the figure. Different colored casted plastic disagrees with your statement. It was the Camshaft figure of the mold they couldn't sell, Swindle sold fine.

I think scout class would be the better option for this type of figure with maybe a general/commander as a deluxe?

beast machines did this, so i don't think its too unreasonable to think they'd do it again.

hell, they could even just release a drone styled figure with an individual bio describing it as a troop leader. let people troop build from there.

I wouldn't mind some drones, especially the Eradicons from Prime.

I thought Bumblebee was the designated drone army builder figure?
