Following on from the pics of TF united yesterday we've received some sparse news on a new theme / line from Hasbro coming sometime December.

all we have been told is its called ''Reveal of the Shield'' and is of a G1 theme which will be of interest to mainly collectors.

Sorry for such little info, we'll post more as we get it

    Andy :)

Nevermind, it was apparently a trademark application a few weeks back.

Seems like it. In the new pictures, Fallback clearly has a Black Rubsign (minus gray background, so it's just a black shape), and Fallback is movie line, so it might be a multiple line wide thing.

    Which I would just LOVE.

It's been thrown around a bit, basically it's celebrating the return of rubsigns, might be another campaign like Hunt for the Decepticons to go with it. It's the new theme for the yellow packaged toys IIRC.

Which would explain such an obviously non-movie-style toy like Grapple being released in a yellow box - this must be what they're fitting in between HFTD and TF3. These are making my collection hard to catalogue, the spreadsheet is organised by toylines! :lol

I'm with the rub sign people here. The Autobot and Decepticon logos the TFs sport would be considered their shields.

Rub the black rub sign to ...wait for it...reveal the shield.

    Thanx

So basically the lore goes that, when a transformer rub themselves, their alligence is shown and they can generate a force field.

I think there might be something line uniting going on here. The Hasbro photos we saw today have 2 pictures that look like assortments combining toys from HFTD & Generations plus there's Grapple/Lugnut/Highbrow.... But beyond this we've seen no new HFTD but there's TEN Generations style toys coming.

It's interesting that they would describe this as "G1 themed." When they first introduced the rubsigns, they promoted it with the Minispies, those little cars with no faction sigils and you had to buy the figure, open it and rub the rubsign to find out if you had an Autobot or a Decepticon. Maybe they'll do something like this again?

It'll be kind of a lackluster promotion if it's just, "Hey, we're putting rubsigns on toys!... Right next to their normal faction sigils."

Takara going with a G1 theme?

    What a shock.

The answer is actually hidden in plain sight - if you look on the slides from CybertronCon, the Generations toys are "Deluxe Generations" but there are others (Tracks, Jazz, Perceptor) that just say "Deluxe".

Combine that with the listings from yesterday which give the latest wave of yellow packaged toys from the new promo pics, along with Wreck-Gar, Laser Optimus and Perceptor, and it seems like basically the yellow packaged series is also becoming a line for the Classic reimagination toys. Basically Hasbro seems to be placing the toys into whichever slots are available for us fans to enjoy.

It's a great time to be a fan with this much product in the pipeline, I'll say that.

Which might tie in with the news that there's no more Generations coming to the UK....
