No, you can't "exchange" it for a new slim model. They are two different systems. Open items can only be exchanged for the same item.

Isn't that just for Video Games? I think you could return the 360 but this isn't one of those things you should ask openly. Its going to turn into "Your a scum bag for taking advantage of walmart" blah blah....

Just call your walmart and tell them whats up. The worse they could say is no and every town has at least 5 so you could try a couple stores.

    Wal-Mart =/= Gamestop.

You won't be getting store credit either, especially if it's been over a month. They have a strict returns policy.

If you do call and ask I wouldn't call the one you plan on taking it to b/c they might be on the look out for someone trying this. But I don't believe they will take it back once the factory seal has been broken, they will tell you that you have to return it to the company (i.e. microsoft) and get a replacement from them.

Slight chance you might get store credit for it, especially if you can get them to have a manager come to customer service and explain what your going to do, and if you do it once the new Xbox 360s become available. he might give the okay for store credit but on an an Item a new and improved version is out its a very long shot. My advice is take to a game stop and sell it for cash, you won't get full price but its cash you can use toward the one you want.

just sell it on craigslist if WM doesn't want to give you a refund. I'm sure someone will give you 120 or so... Plus, didn't you get a 50 dollar gift when you purchased the system?

Unless policy has changed (and the only that that might have changed is the time you have to return it, I know they've been thinking about shortening everything), you have 90 days to return it for a refund. If you paid cash you'll get cash, credit it'll go back on your card. All of this is assuming you still have your receipt, that is. Without a receipt you'll get store credit.

The "open = exchange" rule is only on video games, not on systems.
