Well, Wolverine has bone claws and the art is horrible, so probably from that era during the mid-to-late 90s. Horrible writing though, Kitty would never allow such an obvious sucker punch to happen to her. Edit: a quick search produced the result of Deadpool vol. 1 #27.
Even though I love Kitty, it doesn't really seem like it's been that long since she was fired into space. I think they could have kept her away a little longer to make her return seem more important. And I agree with the fact that they need to go back to the days when each book featured DIFFERENT X-men, as opposed to all of the big three featuring just Cyclops, Emma, Wolverine and Beast. When was the last time we got a good Nightcrawler story? How about Iceman or Storm? The list goes on...
I really miss the old swashbuckling Nightcrawler. Before he found out he was demon spawn, and became a priest, and found out his time as a priest was a dream, and found out he might have a daughter, who was really from an alternate dimension, and met his demonic half brothers, and oh god what did they do to the poor blue furball. And I have to agree that much as I'd like to see Kitty back she'll likely make one or two apperances to cement her "return" then fade into the background like 90% of the characters in the X-Verse right now.
Yea for Kitty, one of my faves, but, I! WANT! JEAN! Besides I read Wolvie FC anyway, so it's not like Kitty's really even been gone for me.
Quote from wiki on how she didn't die. As the team prepares to end the confrontation with the Breakworld leader, the team splits up—with Kitty on the team appointed to stop the missile pointed at Earth. Kitty phases into the missile to disrupt its circuitry noting that it is composed of the same material as the rest of Breakworld, making it difficult and exhausting for her to phase through. After phasing for a mile into the missile, Kitty finds the center only to discover it empty. The missile is fired, causing Kitty to pass out inside of it as Beast discovers too late that due to its shape, trajectory, and lack of internal circuitry, the Breakworld's weapon is not a missile, but a bullet. As the bullet hurtles toward Earth, Kitty lies unconscious within it.Kitty then phases the bullet through the earth, but is trapped within
When phased she doesn't need oxygen, which explains how she can stay phased in solid objects for lengths of time to no ill-effect. I think we can safely assume eating is the same way.
