3P tend to be more expensive than mainline, but there also tends to be fewer 3P figures than mainline figures in a given year. What would you estimate is the approximate retail cost of one of each new transforming figure released by all companies in a given year, say, 2018? Mainline and 3P. In other words, if you wanted to buy one of every transforming figure produced, what would be your approximate annual budget?

It would likely be into five figures, USD. Why do you ask?

Curiosity mostly. I would guess that just picking up all the Hasbro and Takara releases in a given year would be a lot less than the 3P options. But, I've never really estimated it. It would be interesting to know what kind of budget would make it feasible.

    Are you counting repaints?

If so, does a repaint of a mold from the previous year (say, a HasTak MP or 3rd Party recolour like the Takara Movie figures this year)

    What about re-issues?

@Maz might know how much it’s cost him to buy every single Titans Return figure.

But not even the most prolific reviewers get one of everything in 3P. And reviewing figures is what they do.

Let's say everything except re-issues, if they are exact duplicates.

I think if you want to exclude shipping, most items in TR have a standard cost per size class so it's relatively simple to calculate what it would cost someone in their own market. I've had to import most of it, though, so it'll be a higher number for me than most.

    All the best
