Wal-mart restocks whenever they get a pallet and feel like doing it Target stocks when their computer tells them to Toysrus stocks on truck days, fridays in my area
Modified slightly. Also, they'll stock the absolute newest stuff they have if a Hasbro rep is there. I know that because that's about the only way we can find stuff around here.
I have only ever seen the mythical hasbro rep once in like 10 years of collecting. So of course I payed special attention to what she was doing. There was only wave 3 on the shelves and she was stocking wave one movie toys. I just laughed and walked away. All these years waiting to see one and she was making it worse.
I see the one around here all the time (once probably every other week) She brings the good shit out of the back room. IIRC, she even told Squall42080 that the stores around here generally suck.
the stores around here are usually pretty darn good. For example I am 100% caught up right now. I guess that's why they don't come here often and worry about old stuff getting left behind
Simply put, here the amount of product sold is low because the pegs are crammed full of the same crap that has been there for months. We (the area as a whole) need the Hasbro rep to come in and put new stuff on the shelves so there's stuff to look at (and buy) AND Hasbro needs the rep to come in so there are actually sales figures for this area. When new stuff is put out here, it doesn't last long at all. Two cases of wave 4 put out at TRU barely lasted a day two weeks ago. I was in at about 1PM and the only reason I know there were two cases was because there were 3 Dead Ends. For all I know, there was more than that. The only stuff that sits is stuff in mangled packaging, because it definitely matters that the box that winds up in the trash looks pretty in the store. Something on-topic... Something on-topic... The stores around here don't really restock at all unless Hasbro makes them.
Yea, it is going to vary greatly by season and area. Best/easiest way at Target and TRU is to ask. Most employees I have found are happy to tell you. Other than Christmas season, most TRUs get a truck per week, targets (atleast around here) get toys twice a week. Walmart has thrown me for a loop, but when I was big into it, it was twice a week. Now it seems as if the days have changed on me and there may be a third day of new stuff. With Walmart, a week worth of midnight runs should set you to their schedule. Figuring these stock days is important if you need stuff right when it becomes available, and is a week worth of work (tops) that will save you days of frustration.
