About Damn time. I know they are trying to keep it from being a TPS, and I know that it enhances the fear and urgency element, but dammit, if I had 20 psycho men coming at me with axes, you bet I would be back-pedaling and shooting, not just standing there and having to do an about-face to put distance between me and them. That almost ruined RE4 for me.

Good news for sure, but I wonder how Twin Twist will take the Gears reference.

You should go rent it again.
Resident Evil 4 is one of the best video games ever.
    Seriously.

The fact that you have to stop and shoot is annoying, but it is by no means a dealbreaker. It was sure a hell of a lot better than having to press up to move forward and turning in place like on previous RE games.

RE 4 is one of the best games ever. The control issue was never an issue for me. I bought it twice.

while it never ruined my enjoyment of the game, its probably time they ditched it - its never made any sense since RE1.

Lame. Very lame. RE4's control scheme was perfectly fine. I had no problems with it at all. Never was, and never should be a friggin' third or first person shooter.

If they turn the RE series into some kind of Gears of War/shooter knockoff, then I'll be done with the series because it will no longer be Resident Evil.

i hear that RE4 Wii begs to differ, but too an extent i agree.

seriously, i can live with tank controls, but the fact you can't walk while shooting/aiming was like some sort of forced mechanic to make the game hard. it really makes no sense, i mean i can get it if you maybe walked slower like gta or something... but standing still?

Or at least your accuracy is severely limited or something.
    But it should be possible!

The thing about RE4 is that the controls were good and the game was calibrated for it. So, I never felt too handicapped not being able to move and shoot. If they want to change it, fine, as long as the game is balanced and tweaked to whatever changes are made.

you know what, it would be a million times better if the controls were like dead rising. if they keep stationary shooting, at least give us 3d-whatever movement.

Well, having played RE1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, and REmake quite extensively prior to playing RE4, I can safely say I was quite used to that. As any RE fan who has played the whole series should be. So I really don't understand the hate I'm seeing here.

You want a fast paced shooter? Go play Gears or something.
