just found this
YouTube - Resident evil: AfterLife 3D - First trailer
I didn't see anything in that trailer that impressed me.
They should have just quit when they discarded the script Romero wrote. Sadly, this movie accurately reflects the switch of focus on the games as well.
I hate these films. I'll be glad when they are finally gone.
Nintendo and Kojima are smart. They know that Hollywood can destroy video games adapted to film and that you can do just fine using games to give a big-budgeted movie experience.
I will see it. I always give movies a chance that I am interested in. Regardless of who says "It sucks, looks like shit, etc"
I am curious, I definately see the use of the clones. Who is that chick in the red shirt fighting exectutioner dude? Ali Larter? It just doesn't look like Milla or Ali.
Also, looks like they definately have Wesker there in his T-Virus injectedness. And some other dude with red glowies. Hmmm. This trailer in a sense is confusing me.
One more thing, right after it says the best 3D technology, when the plane tries to buzz the dude. It definately looks fake!
Yeah, I recall Romeros script was freaking awesome. I really am not liking the whole Plagas shift. What next? Orabora...or whatever the hell it was called from RE5.
You have a long wait. Resident Evil is being rebooted after this movie.
It can be done right, I just wish the producers would realize the movie does not need a big name actor. Just make a good story based on the mansion. It's that simple. Resident Evil should be, um, I dunno, scary?
Looks entertaining, can't really say much more than that.
Though Milla and Ali continue to be smokin'.
Good to see Paul W.S. Anderson returning to scripting/directing duties since the first one was really the only one I liked, but the instant I saw "FILMED with the same camera James Cameron used on Avatar" (or whatever) I knew the plot was going to be 90% random stuff flying at the screen and 10% whatever they remembered to patch together as a story.
The trailer just confirmed that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Wtf was that? They're adding the Majini now?
Resident Evil..... how can something i've loved for so long be destroyed over and over again? Let this series die already!!!
Re1 was good, 2 was ok, 3 was bad.... 4? If I ever get around to watching 4, its going to be on USA or TNT at 3 in the morning.
I'm a fan boy but I will not support this movie.
Its like, the games take 2 steps forward and the movies go 3 steps back.
Actually the games have totally turned to action titles, so really they have even strayed from "scary". Regardless, I liked both 1 and 3, and part 2 would have been a whole lot better if it didn't have the cheesy camera effect they used whenever some sort of action was happening. These aren't topping the list as incredible great movies, but they've never really dissapointed me with being fun, action-horrors. I'll see it for sure.
two things i liked
- seeing Wesker siting in a white room while two dogs appear at his sides.
- Wesker in said "white room" taking off his sunglasses (revealing his red glowing eyes) and throwing them towards the screen.
Las Plaga's...WTF? and why is the executioner majini from RE5 in this movie too?
Yeah, but who was the other dude with red eyes before Wesker throws his? Some other dude.
I don't think I will waste my time with 3d on this either. If I didn't see Avatar in 3d, I have no reason to see this one in it.
Awwww look at the little plagas! Its like the Zoidberg of the undead. My sister and I watched the hell out of the first 3 just for the hilarious camp-factor, I doubt this will be an exception.
This was completely and utterly laughable. I can't wait for this horrible mess to finally be over with.
Guess it looks entertaining, and I think I might enjoy it a little more than RE fans, considering I don't know crap about RE, but I don't think I'll see it.
Really looking forward to Phelous' inevitable review of it though.
Milla=Joy. I'll give it a whirl. Lord knows I've seen much worse.
I liked the first RE. The others are just campy zombie movies. I don't know about this.
All I know is that I'm ready for Silent Hill 2.
