Speaking to the press, Boulder Media Studio has confirmed working on two new Transformers cartoons.

While the title of one show remains unnamed, the second show is titled as Rescue Bots Academy. Along with the two new Transformers shows, the studio will also develop a new Littelest Pet Shop series and a series based on Micronauts for Hasbro Studios.

“The studio behind TV animation shows for the likes of Disney, Nickelodeon and BBC is moving up a gear. They’ve announced this morning that they’re constantly on the look-out for new talented staff and plan to open a second studio space in Dublin.

The Studio, whose current slate includes animation for ‘Transformers’, ‘Little Pet Shop’ and ‘Rescue Bots Academy’ and ‘Micronauts’ for Hasbro Studios, as well as ‘Danger Mouse’ and ‘Dorothy and the Wonders of Oz’ (Warner Brothers), is ramping up to deliver innovative animation and storytelling across multiple formats and genres.”

Rescue Bots Academy is clearly sounding as though it is the spiritual successor to the original Transformers: Rescue Bots; loved by young fans across the globe. The show’s title is also the title of Episode 71 of RB.

 

I'm curious...will it be a sequel to RB...or maybe a prequel taking place on Cybertron? Will it be a new academy, or maybe focus on the original back on Cybertron?

As much as I'd love a prequel, kinda betting on sequel since they'll want human characters. Oh well.

 

It'll most likely be a sequel. But I wonder how one animation studio is going to handle two new Transformers series, unless they have a chain industry type of business. Still not entirely on board with the other series, though.

 

Didn't they setup the academy at the end of season 4, or some sort of training facility? I bet Cody will be all grown up in it. Heatwave will probably be there too, since he was the team leader. In any event, I'm glad Rescue Bots will be continuing in some form.

I'm very curious about the new, untitled show. I can't see them breaking out of continuity after bridging three series. Maybe it'll be on Cybertron and focused on the Elite Guard, or just the next chapter after RID?

My dream would be a return to TFP in look and tone, and targeted towards older fans. I'd be interested to see how well a mature audience TF series on Netflix would do.

A prequel on cyber torn would open up some opportunities for some really cool toys in my opinion.

Here’s a quick follow-up to our coverage of Hasbro Investor Day 2017. As you all know, the other new (and official) reveal from the event was Rescue Bots Academy. In addition to that, Hasbro was set to reveal today a trailer for an Interactive Web-Series titled My Transformers Rescue Bots Adventures.

Rescue Bots Academy will be an all-new take on the Rescue Bots Franchise. A new bunch of young Autobot robot cast will be featured and the story takes place separately from Transformers: Rescue Bots. New robots will be voiced by a new set of voice actors. Each episode is 11 minutes long. (However, we speculate that the show will feature 2 episodes per viewing; very much like Spongebob Squarepants.)

Rescue Bots Academy is in development by Boulder Media Studio under the guidance of many industry veterans. While a specific date was not told, the series will make its debut in 2019. The show is targeted towards preschoolers.

My Transformers Rescue Bots Adventures is an interactive webseries catering to the aforementioned demographic until Rescue Bots Academy arrives to Television.

“Get Ready to Roll to the Rescue! It’s My Transformers Rescue Bots Adventure! Join Heatwave and the Rescue Bots team to choose your own rescue adventure. With many choices happening along the way, how will you help the Rescue Bots save the day?”
