Picked these two up today at Target and was bored off my ass so thought I'd take some pics and share.

Most important thing to note: My son is a little over a year and a half and as a responsible nerdy parent, I felt the need to collect all of these guys to educate him in the awesomeness of Transformable robots. He's still pretty little for them, but he usually does like folding down Optimus' head or playing with Boulder (The easiest). He also enjoys just rolling them on the ground or spinning Blades' rotors. With these two, he likes Medix because he just has a button you press to Transform, as opposed to a lever or pulling on legs like the others.

    So here's Hoist:

Hoist transforms by lifting up on his crane wench. His arms are very similar to Heatwave. He's the only Rescue Bot whose legs don't separate when turned into robot mode. Great colors in person, even if a little weird for Hoist. My hope is that they're just using his name as a place holder for a future Generations Hoist. I think the last time they used the name was in the ROTF line.

    Here's Medix:

Medix is an adorable and cheerful little ambulance. His vehicle mode reminds me of something Nick Roche would draw. He transforms by pressing the siren on the roof of the ambulance. Very simple. But very fun. Has a great big smile. My wife and step daughter thought he was very cute. I like the use of the name Medix. Lately, we've seen some new Autobot medics in the comics like Ambulon and Pharma. If this guy was given a "classics" spin, I think he could fit right in there. He's definitely the best of the two.

Here's both with some comparisons with Prime and Boulder:

Oh man....My son is gunna FREAK when he sees these.

Hasbro is doing a kick ass job with these. I got my son some of the other "kiddie" tfs..Like Gravity bots, and the silly dotm activators...he could care less about those, but the rescue bots..home run. My son LOVES them.

Thanks for doing a review on these!

Super-happy Medix makes for a nice change from the various gruff and grumpy Ratchets we've gotten lately.

Do these guys suffer from the shrinkage syndrome, too, or do they have the typical amount of mass? Medix and Hoist look so short in bot mode but kinda big in alt, which is throwing me off.

Same amount of mass. I never realized how big Optimus was before I took pics of him. They size and stand great next to the other six Rescue bots though.
