Well... the flames on the Hot Shot look 'ok' I guess. Im not too impressed with your Jazz, tho; sorry. Too sloppy for my tastes.

Why not just get the G1 recolor?

I think the paint job needs to be smooth out. Maybe use painters tape to make it look smooth and evening looking.

To Autocon: can't find a cheap one
To Ezilla: which one: FBG1 Jazz, Or The Tainted? Cause the tainted is supposed to look that way.

While the paint job is pretty bad, Jazz's overall design has TONS of potential. Just get some masking tape, some spraypaint and a few junkers/big lots KOs and keep practicing.

    And that's the important part.

I agree that the paint job on Jazz looks somewhat clutty (that is, the paint appears to be laid on quite thickly, obscuring some of the sculpted detail) - but I do like the design of it. The main trick to a clean paint job is thin layers; don't put lots of paint on in one go, just to cover the base colour. Paint on thin coats; if the first coat doesn't cover, let it dry and then add another, and so on till you've got the effect you're after.
Out of curiosity, what sort of paint are you using?

Rod's also got a good suggestion, and one which is frequently offered to new painters - if you've got a limited budget (and let's face it, most of us have), rather than going straight for your expensive TFs, try honing your painting techniques on something cheaper; bootleg figures and Matchbox cars are excellent test grounds...

It's always nice to see new people getting into repainting, and as you develop your skills, it'll just get more and more satisfying. :D
