For those G1 (and probably G2) collectors, have any of y'all seen and/or used this company? Reproduction TF symbols and replacement toy symbols - Reprolabels.com They do reproduction TF labels. I was curious if anybody has tried them, if they're good stickers, and worth wild? Are they pretty much exact duplicates to the original G1s? And does anybody think it's bad to use these reproduction stickers to "restore" your G1?
Alot of collectors use Reprolabels. They've been around for a while and having an industry that centers primarily around selling stickers for old toys standing afloat for so long is saying something. I personally never had to order them, but I have heard many good things about them.
Yea, Reprolabels is awesome. I have ordered from them more than a few times. Top notch quality and they make it easier to make my toys look great!
In order... - Yes. Repeatedly and thoroughly. - Yes, very much so. They stick well and look great. - ..."worth wild"? Worthwhile, yes. - As far as I'm aware, the overwhelming majority of them are. Some of their Pretender sets aren't exact duplicates of the original G1 labels, though: Where the original labels for those figures were semi-transparent, the Reprolabels versions are opaque. - Definitely not. Every vintage G1 figure I've ever bought has gotten a set of Reprolabels, if there's a set available.
I order from them several times a year. They've got high quality product. Most recently I got some stickers to put on my vintage Hotrod and Kup figures. Just putting some new stickers on made those twenty+ year old toys look almost brand new.
lol! Well, I think those replies definitely answered my questions. I was thinking of purchasing some for my older jumpstarters. I couldn't tell, but do they have the rub stickers?
They have their own versions of rub stickers that look and change color like the originals. They're not exactly the same, but you probably won't care. And just in case you want to see an example of Reprolabels in action:
Jetfire... wow... oh wow. He is be-u-ti-fullll! He's my favorite autobot - had to throw that in there. lol But seriously, he does look great. It does seem like a fresh set of stickers makes them new again. Thank you many times for that photo. I'm glad they have the rub stickers. I'll have to investigate further on their website. I really appreciate everybody's feedback about them!
Just wonder how will Reprolabel send in the stickers to you guys? are the stickers put inside a hardbox or something to avoid damage or folding of envelope?
never had a problem with one single sticker that i have gotten from them. probably 1/3 of my transformers have reprolables on them somewhere. they are badass.
wow, it is good to hear that! I think I will buy some sticker from them. Anyhow, are they sticker much better than original one? I once met a seller who interested to sell me his starsaber back in 2006 but the repro sticker on the starsaber looks like printed by color printed, not shining and smooth. and he told me it was from reprolabel.
Oh! One last thought. When you guys apply the new stickers, do you first remove the old stickers with something like adhesive remover? Or use heat? How y'all handle that part?
Perhaps the seller misled you and just said it was repro labels...? The ones on the website, in the pix, look fairly glossy and excellent.
I just recently ordered from them for the first time. I got the WFC stickers with a faction sheet for free. They came in an envelope less than two weeks later. I did remove the rub symbols on figures without any assistance other than just pealing them off. The stickers I've placed look fantastic. But see what I did for yourself:
I've used Reprolabels to restore a dozen or so figures and they all look great. The great thing is when you clean a toy, you can't fix up the stickers aside from dusting them. Reprolabels solves that and lets you have a clean, shiny, factory-fresh looking toy. Here's a few of them.
