I've never painted a toy before, so I'm starting from scratch. There's a few TFs that I want to use as Shattered Glass characters, so all they need is a repainted faction symbol. There are the sculpted kind of symbols, like Cybertron Landmine's Autobot symbol.

Where do I start? Strip the existing paint off? How to repaint it without getting paint in the grooves?

    Thanks for any info!

The symbol shoudl come off with alcohol.

As for re-coloring, the most I have seen is the standard red and purple for autobot and con respectively. Depending on what color you are trying to do, you would probably be better off at making a decal.

There might be some guys on here that can do it for you, for a fee.

Thanks. Yeah, since it's Shattered Glass, I'd be switching the 'bot/'con red/purple.

What's a standard type of paint/brush for painting Transformers?

That is a can of worms that can best be answered in the tutorials and your own trial and error.

You may get results by using the appropriately coloured stamp pad to ink the symbol on or maybe dip some foam in the paint, remove excess, and wipe
