This was my original Sector70 contest entry. I had to scrap it because there were still issues with the transformation and I didn't have enough time to perfect the helicopter mode.

It DOES look like him, I hope you can sort it out, I'd love to see a proper Coptur custom!

The chopper mode just looked like an awkwardly positioned robot with a helicopter backpack. I don't think I would've done as well if I had entered this instead of Slicks. I've since removed the backpack.

Let's be fair: The original Cop-Tur also looked like an awkwardly positioned robot with a helicopter backpack.

LOL I think the original 28-year old toy looks better than what I've done thus far.

I always look forward to your Gobots customs. They have that sort of tacky retro look while still being well designed, and it just works so well together.

I'm not sure tacky is the best word to use here. I mean, I've never heard it used in a positive light.

Ah, well my bad then. Perhaps "cheesy" is the word I meant? Like "It looks sorta silly, but in a good way"

Hmm, well, that's not good. My whole intent with these customs is to give some of these characters updated versions that aren't considered silly, cheesy, or tacky.

I think given how odd the Gobots originally looked, it seems like it would be sort of hard to avoid that- intentionally or not. I say embrace the quirkiness of their designs! (QUIRKY, THAT'S THE WORD I MEANT)

I think with the early early designs (Cop-Tur and Cy-Kill amongst them) you have a LOT of leeway, as they basically turned into space-tech-"Gobotronian" vehicles. Nobody's going to be mad if your Cy-Kill is a funky space motorcycle instead of a detailed Harley, you know? A Leader-1 that isn't an F-15 is more of an issue.

I get what underw-nin is trying to say. Personally speaking, aside from a very few GoBot designs, I always thought most of them just had silly names, but still really cool toys. Transformers isn't immune to bad names either, though :lol

I'm going to be interested to see where this one end up :)
