I've had the original Universe Ratchet for many years now, a red van with a metallic guard and two nice launching weapons. He looks very techy. I want to keep him on my "Autobot team", but the new Classics Ratchet obviously is a better representation of the G1 character. So, I want to rename him. Any suggestions? (If you don't know who I mean or what he looks like, I'll post a picture a little later.) Thanks
I like that figure a lot too, he's great. Though I do wish he had an actual lightbar instead of just a painted-on representation. Anyway, in the original Universe 1.0 continuity, isn't he supposed to be an "alternate universe" Ratchet? At least that is the case according to the TFWiki. So if your personal mythos allows for universe-hopping, he doesn't really conflict with Classics Ratchet. But if not, and if you want him named after another Transformer ambulance, you could go with First Aid, Fixit, or Sireen. Or go with a Gobot homage and name him Res-Q. Or, uh, the old proposed (and mercifully abandoned) G1 Ratchet nickname, "Cool Hand Lube." Yikes! Me, I would probably just come up with a nice original name, as none of those (in my opinion) are particularly good. I bet there are lots of good names you could come up with that befit a medic. He's got that giant saw, what if you named him "Sawbones" and made him specifically a surgeon? Maybe "Cutter"? I dunno... just thinking off the top of my head. I'll edit with other suggestions if I think of any.
First Aid seems like a good name to use for Uni. 1.0 Ratchet, the alt mode better fits Red Alert than Ratchet.
Since it looks more like a fire fighting vehicle (painted on hose and all that) I renamed it Hot House a long time ago...I think I got the name from a Micromaster...
Thanks guys. I want to kind of stay away from the medic route though, and make him more of a mchanic or weapons crafter. First Aid isn't bad, nor is Fixit. I don't mind going with preexisting, well known names either.

I've been calling mine Safety ever since I got C/U 2.0 Ratchet. Fixit is also a good choice, but I use that name for Movie Inferno.
