In a way, it looks like a G1 Divebomb homage. The brown is kind of close to the orange.
I see it still has the Decepticon symbol. If it is Botcon Airrazor, this one either has the wrong jewel in it like we've seen before in other test shots, or they hope people will ignore it like the Decepticon symbol on the underside of the Golden Disk Cyber keys (Which I really hope they fix btw).
As I posted in another thread, BC Council members have stated that any established BW show characters will be in a vehicle form if produced as BotCon toys.
Yeah I just read that in the other thread, so are these are going to be Decepticon drones of some kind then?
We don't know yet. The options are essentially:
(1) BW characters who weren't on the show in new bodies.
(2) New characters.
(3) Characters from other lines (e.g., G1) in new bodies.
On the third option, there are those of us who think a POSSIBILITY is that they're G1 Laserbeak and Buzzsaw, what with Ravage having already gotten a new body. However, it's been brought to our attention that we're colorblind irrational fanboys who are jumping to conclusions.
If you're looking for a G1 Divebomb look alike, try the other Divebomb repaint - he's alot more red/orange than this one and has more black, making almost spot-on indentical with his Generation 1 namesake.
These guys just loooove the troop-builder concept. I'm sure that's what these are. Better mold this time, but I'll be passing. I have Classics I'd rather buy instead!
I remind you too that Primal said that only ONE Decepticon who was given the chance to keep going by reformatting to a Predecon took it
oh how Remy mocks me with his Shadowhawk Cosmo type !
As far as HE knew.
The Decepticon symbol on the back of the cyber key bothered me a lot at first, but it bothers me less if I think about it as evidence of Megatron's tampering with the Voyager disk.
The Botcon site says the keys are in a 'key holder', and it seems that information about the Great War was held as a secret, so you can look at the logo as a stamp that indicates that the relic is related to the Decepticons and must remain secret.
It is a bit contrived, but it's enough for me to accept the presence of the sigil; however, I would prefer if it wasn't there.
Continuity? It's never stopped anyone in the past, why would they let it start now?
FOR THE LOVE OF PRIMUS HASBRO JUST GIVE US A G1 DIVEBOMB REPAINT, not something "close" or "resembling" straight up!
Admission is the first step to recovery!
Nah, if this is gold, it seems far more plausible that it could be Buzzsaw. When everyone thought it was brown? Not so much.
We've got one that's goldish and one that's redish and their identical Decepicon birds.
They HAVE TO BE Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw. I'm really surprised there's any debate.
It still looks decidedly brown to me, I'm not sure how you guys are seeing gold...
Ahem. I hereby nominate that these be referred to as "Covert Agent Buzzsaw" and "Covert Agent Laserbeak".
Um, 'scuse me, but who even brought up Botcon in the first place? Why can't these be straight out Cybertron repaints? We're getting Armada repaint in Cybertron, why not Energon?
I dunno what the purpose of the toy is...all I see is another recolor using a color scheme that doesn't really interest me.
...and this coming from a tool who bought nearly 10 Divebombs for his army of Terrorcons.
