I did a quick search and didn't see anything other than a suggestion to use WD-40. I'm below-novice when it comes to restoration, so I'm asking you professionals for some help. Is there a general consensus as to the best way to remove rust from the screws on figures? Is WD-40 harmful to the plastic or should the screws be removed first and then cleaned (seems logical)? Also, instead of cleaning, has anyone found that G1 figures, in particular, use a typical sized screw that can be purchased at a hardware store and used in lieu of cleaning? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!
its REALLY hard to find the super-small screws that TFs use. Other than from other junker TFs, that is. Just remove the screws and clean them, and after that, then wipe 'em off and screw them back in.
Coca Cola Or A-1 Steak Sauce Let the screws sit in ether one for 2 hours then claen off with a scouring pad and wash with warm water towel dry and your good to go.
