Jewelry cleaning/polishing cloth takes it right off and shines up the diecast quite nicely

It's not rust, that's just the common term being used for the Tarnishing on MP Meg's feet.

The problem here is the diecast metal is untreated where on most other figures, the diecast is painted to match the figure or otherwise. The use of a metal polish will 'cure' the "cosmic rust"/tarnishing quite simply.

Those threads linked to in the earlier post will probably be able to recommend a clear top coat that can be used which would seal the metal and prevent the tarnishing from happening again.

I used some polish and then had the wife hit him with clear nail polish. I am not happy with the results but he does look better.

Yup the wife did, she was so paranoid she was going to ruin it. It's not her fault the rust pitted his feet they look better but I wanted it to look new.

I think when i get my MP megs from the reissue coming up first thing i may do is clear coat his toes to prevent the tarnishing. Is that a good idea?

I don't want to tell anyone what they should do, but I plan on getting a second one when they do come out and I will be putting something on the feet and spine. Maybe the gun mode will hide a lot of ruined area's on my existing figure?
